Malaysian Borneo

Posted by InevitableNomad on 25/7/2011 at 07:27

Hi Everyone. I'm a 23 year old male from Belfast. I'm booking a last minute trip to Malaysian Borneo for one month tomorrow. I hope to arrive on Sunday 31st July / Monday 1st August. I spent some time travelling mainland Malaysia last year and so am really excited about fulfilling my most regretful not see. However, as it's so last minute I haven't had time to make much plans. All I know is that I'm flying to Kota Kinabalu where I intend to use as a base to explore Sabah. Following this, I thi ...

Danum Vally or Tabin Wildlife Reserve???

Posted by Joey82 on 21/7/2011 at 16:44

I am trying to decide weather to spend 2 nights / 3 days in Danum Valley or the Tabin Wildlife Reserve. I'm traveling alone and this will be a luxury after 3mths backpacking! Both look fantastic. Tabin will cost RM1180 while the BRL in Danum is even more expensive RM2580 I really can't decide which one would be the better experience and if going to Danum Valley would be worth the extra cost. Has anyone been to either/both? Advice would be helpful!! ...

Hey, I'm off travelling soon, and would love to spend some time in Sarawak or Sabah, I can have up to 6 weeks in that area. I really want to do the whole Orangutan thing, and would love to spend some time in the rain forest, and am completely open to suggestions, as I am sure there are some wicked and amazing things to do that I don't know. I was looking at this place www.thegreatprojects.com. Any help would be great. Thanks Em. x ...

3,5 Weeks Malaysia 22.07. - 19.08, need Tips for Itinerary and general questions

Posted by nochnbier on 20/6/2011 at 13:59

Hi There! I will visit Malaysia for 3,5 Weeks with my Girlfriend this summer. We dont want to "rush" things, since we're not that immune to humid heat (e.g. we won't be hopping on and of busses every day to "see as much as possible"). We want to see nature and culture, but we wont do heavy-duty-trecking (i.e. overnight-stay in the jungle, daytreks should be fine however) The following stops are decided for now: KL 2 nights at the beginning Taman Negara or Cameron Highlands ...

One night in KL?

Posted by silverteeth on 7/7/2011 at 23:32

Hello everyone! I'm going to be stopping off in KL, as I fly from Siem Reap to Bali. I'm a bit pressed for time, but I'm thinking if I'm going to stop there anyhow, I might as well spend the night. Do you think it's worth changing money, getting out of the airport, finding accommodation, and then lugging myself back to the airport in the morning? Can I see and eat enough in KL in less than 24 hours to justify it? Thanks! ...

Day trips from Kuching

Posted by amz155 on 28/6/2011 at 01:27

What are your favourite day trips to take while visiting Kuching? We've already shortlisted: -Sarawak Cultural Village -Semenggoh -maybe kayaking -Gunung Gading (if timing is right to see Rafflesia) -Gunung Santubong--can we still climb it and I've read about a waterfall to swim in? -day in the city (see Chinatown, museum, mosque, cat statues, etc.) -Kubah (is it worth it if we have already visited Kinabatangan, Mulu, Bako?) Also, can anyone recommend a company to book a kayaking tour with if ...

Motor Bike trip through Malaysia

I live in Thailand and thinking of doing a motor bike trip down into Malaysia in July... (my own bike.... will get necessary paper work before hand! ) Just wondering if anyone has done motor bike trips around the Malaysia? I know the roads in southern Thailand are generally very good (main highways & bi ways)... Would I be correct in assuming roads (at least the main roads in Malaysia would much the same?....) I hate bus trips, as you pass so many interesting spots, where you just can ...

B-day evening in KL?

Posted by amz155 on 11/6/2011 at 05:37

We will be in KL for three days after arriving from Canada. One of those nights will be my finace's birthday. The trip will also be our honeymoon. I'm wondering if people could give me ideas for how we could celebrate his birthday in KL? We aren't looking to spend a lot of money. And we are backpacking it so won't have fancy clothes. Is there anything fun we can do at night that doesn't involve a super expensive meal or require fancy clothes? We will either be staying in Bukit Bintang or Ch ...
