Job market in Singapore

Posted by margot on 17/5/2010 at 04:46

Hello, I've a question about the job market in Singapore. Is it difficult to find a job for a recent graduate? Do Europeans stand any chances of finding one? What occupations are in the highest demand at the moment? If you know the answers to my questions or can recommend a source where I could find reliable information, please, let me know. Thank you very much! ...

A week around Singapore

Posted by Markontheroad on 23/1/2010 at 18:38

Hi All, Doing a round the world trip and just managed to get an unexpected week in Singapore - we arrive in tomorrow! However, we are not city people and prefer countryside, mountains and beaches, so would be happy to see Singapore in a day and then head out for 5-6 days somewhere else reasonably close. Which way do we head? (Budget is limited, so we'd need to bus or train it out of the city, rather than fly). Thanks! ...

Early morning arrival - what to do?

Posted by spareword on 18/4/2010 at 13:08

Hello all - my girlfriend and I arrive at 12:45am on June 16 in Singapore, well really it's just our layover until our flight leaves for Bali at 4:45pm the same day. I've heard that Singapore is a small region and that we can do some exploring in that small time frame. I'm wondering if anyone can suggest an place to stay for that one night (which must be open for a late check-in as it could be close to 2am). Also, any suggestions on what to do with our few hours in town? Or am I just kidding ...

child friendly singapore excursions

Posted by family3 on 14/3/2010 at 01:57

We are going to be based in Singapore for 4 weeks in August and would like some advice of 3-4 day trips to go on with our two year old son. We have a limited budget and don't want to stay too far from Singapore. Hours on buses are impractical but short flights would be ideal. We would like to steer clear of anywhere too touristy and would like to see some orangutans and other animals in their natural habitat. Any other child friendly suggestions would be great! ...

I'm planning to visit Singapore in March for a week and I need some help to look for a backpacker's hotel. I will be alone and have a budget of less than $20 USD a day. I don't do advance booking in my travels so I just hope to find one when I arrive there. Is this fine for me? ...

Do I have to fly from Singapore to KL

Posted by looman on 14/10/2009 at 21:48

Hi. I'm flying into S'pore from London. My plan is to travel through Malaysia into Thailand, either by bus or train. However I've been advised that my airline may not board me in London if I don't have proof of onward travel from S'pore and this would have to be in the form of a flight rather than train or bus ticket. I really don't want to have to book an unecessary flight Any ideas ...

How to avoid Formula 1?

Posted by busylizzy on 26/8/2009 at 15:58

For the start of my 6+ month adventure, I'm flying into Singapore. While I'm there, I figure I might as well stay for a few days to have a look around and see what's changed in the last 20 years. No problems. Until a friend told me that the days I booked (24-27 Sept) are the exact same days as the Formula 1 event. Now, to me, a car is a car is a car. Except for blue ones. They're blue - and pretty. I'm not too thrilled to think that I will be spending my 2 days/3 nights in Singap ...

Hi all, We will have a couple of nights in Singapore at the end of our month in Asia. I would like to stay in Changi Village. Can anyone offer some suggestions? There is a resort style hotel there but I was after something a bit more rustic.. hostel or homestay or similar. We have visited Singapore a couple of times before and have stayed in the CBD. Not in to shopping, have seen the zoo, not interested in Sentosa so more after the village life - if there is such a thing in singapore. L ...

Singapore Shopping Festival Information

Posted by rsnfunky on 24/5/2009 at 19:12

Hi All, I have read that during the Singapore Shopping festival (June-July) everything is at 70% discount. Is it true? (As is sounds unbelievable). My questions are - 1) Are Electronics (like a DSLR) at a discount. 2) Are reputed brands also discounted (like Sony) 3) Do we get originals and new (first hand) goods. I am looking to buy a mid range Digital SLR and was going to Singapore next month. It would be great if someone could let me know what could be the expected price range for ...
