Might Bangkok airport get closed as part of February 2 election disruption?

Posted by EdwardTrunk on 10/1/2014 at 03:37

We are due to fly into Bangkok airport at 6.00 hours in transit and depart at 10.00 for Laos - on February 2, which I think is the date for the elections which the Yellow Shirts have said they'll try to disrupt. Via airport workers' trade unions, might the Yellow Shirts close down Bangkok airport as part of their disruption or does this seem out of the question? ...

Hey Everyone, I am currently planning a trip to Thailand for August 2014. I know this is pretty far in advance, but I am currently on break from school and thought I would get the bulk of my research done now. Anyways, I am currently stuck and need a little guidance. Krabi flights

Posted by sarah6969pink on 6/1/2014 at 11:58

Hi All, As I have previously posted we are doing some of SE Asia for our honeymoon in April / May. So far we have 4 nights Hong Kong 2/3 night BKK 3/4 nights ??? 7/8 nights Krabi areas (exact beaches/islands tbc) 2 nights BKK As you can see we have a 3/4 night gap that we are overwhelmed with what to fill it with - we both want to visit so many places (Cambodia, Golden Triangle, Myanmar etc). We thought the easiest way to narrow it down may be to see about where it is easiest to get to Krabi ...

My husband and I are travel writers. We are looking for places to go and stories to write that haven't been done to death, which is difficult since Thailand is such a popular tourist destination. We are planning to stay three weeks in Thailand, with a side trip to Angkor Wat. Arriving sometime in mid to late January. Any thoughts, suggestions or suggested itineraries would be appreciated. Also which guidebook would you suggest getting? LP reviews are mixed at best. We are beyond our backpac ...

Advice/Inspiration for a newbie!

Posted by GentlemanLlama on 2/1/2014 at 13:31

Hi all, I've decided 2014 is the year I actually bite the bullet and do some proper travelling. My plan is to head over to Thailand for 4-5 weeks after I finish my degree in May (looking like end of May/start of June to July), and I have a couple of things that I certainly want to do, but beyond that I'm stuck. I should point out this is day 1 following my decision to do this trip, so I do have a lot more research to do! My budget is up to £2000. I definitely want to get a Sak Yant tattoo ...
