E-mail id for Thanapa Mansion near DMK Airport

Posted by Vaishali on 3/1/2014 at 10:03

Does anyone have the e-mail id for Thanapa Mansion, 9 Phaholyothin 48 sub-soi 5 Phaholyothin Rd. Bangkhen, Don Muang / Impact, Bangkok, Thailand. I can book a room with them online but all of that is 2 bed. I need an extra bed and need to e-mail them before I book. This hotel seems to be perfect for my last day in Bangkok, board 6:20 a.m. flight from it, and also see Chatuchak weekend market and crash. Also this is better than my current booking at We-Train International House, 501/1 Dechatung ...

Five nights to travel from Chiang Mai to Sukhothai

Posted by heidisueelvus on 27/1/2014 at 21:42

I'm interested in renting a car and driving from Chiang Mai to Sukhothai . The route I'm most interested in would be from CM to Chiang Dao, Phrao, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Sukhothai. Can anyone tell me if this is doable logistically? If it is, is it too much ground to cover in 5 nights? Is it possible to rent a car in CM and drop it off in Sukhothai or Phitsanulok? If it's not so good do you have any other more realistic suggestions? Thanks so much! ...

Travelling with a very young child

Posted by Sparts on 21/1/2014 at 08:46

Ok, so I'm looking for opinions here. Having been to Thailand a number of times now I'd not consider myself as a stranger to that part of the world. I'm planning a trip towards the middle of this year. Nothing fancy or off the beaten track. Just a nice relaxing break on a beach we are familiar with (or were). We'll simply be flying into Bangkok before flying to Samui for onwards transport to Phangan. As I said, simples! The difference this time I that we'll be bringing our toddler who will onl ...

3 Weeks in Thailand 2014 - Where should we go?

Posted by howtravel on 26/1/2014 at 08:09

Looking forward to 3 weeks holiday in Thailand. Have booked flights to Bangkok arriving second week of February 2014. As a couple (30/40s) we are new to Thailand and looking for: Mostly laid back beautiful beach relaxation. A few great sights and trips but but not adrenaline filled action. Maybe stay in 2 main places in hotel/holiday rental but take trips. Decent quality accommodation around £75-100 / 4000-5400 BHT per night. It looks good if we fly to Krabi then travel to Koh Lanta and ?? ...

I have been researching this forum for quite some time and have found a lot of useful information posted by people here. I do have a couple of questions about getting from point A to B in Bangkok and would like to see what recommendations people here might have. Thailand has declared a 60-day State of Emergency starting tomorrow (Wednesday). The news is still breaking, so light on details, will update this thread as more becomes clear. As it stands the SOE has no curfew. It covers Bangkok the the surrounding area. The SOE gives agencies power to impose curfews, detain suspects without charge, censor media, ban political gatherings of more than 5 people and declare areas off-limits. Some brief media coverage includes: Reuters AsianCorrespondent BBC Wi ...

A good place to post up in Thailand for cheap?

Posted by Skittens on 19/1/2014 at 09:00

Hi. I'm a writer currently in Thailand. I'm going to be doing some traveling around Asia with a friend for the next month or so, but after that I'm going to be looking for a place to post up and get some work done. Ideally I would like to find a place that is relatively inexpensive and laid back, a mix of travelers and locals, and the opportunity to socialize when I want but also a place to recede to when I want to work or chill or read. Of course this is all personal preference, but I'm ope ...

Phi Phi to Phang Nga

Posted by jonster1 on 19/1/2014 at 10:51

Quite a specific question, but I'm struggling to fit everything in to my itinerary. I'll be staying in Phi Phi in March. My plan is then to go up to Phang Nga (via Phuket ) for a trip around the hongs before travelling over to Koh Phangan. In a bid to maximise available time in my 2 week trip my plan is to leave Phi Phi on the early morning ferry to Phuket, take a bus (either public or minibus) up to Phang Nga and then get on one of the half day, afternoon tours. Sayan's website suggests they ...

Hi All, Firstly wanted to say thanks to everyone who has answered one of my posts on here before - you're all really helping me put together our dream honeymoon trip We had originally ruled out the Golden Triangle area due to time. But we're now thinking of cutting back on other bits of the trip to go up there. However I've read some mixed things!! The lure of seeing three countries altogether, a trip on the Mekong river and the possibility of popping ito Myanmar and / or Laos for a day each ...

Trip Report Phu Nam Ron - Visa run only 200km from Bangkok

Posted by relaxedTrev on 19/1/2014 at 22:12

Trip report from Phu Nam Ron, closest border to Bangkok for Visa extensions being only 200km via Kanchanaburi and or quickest overland route to Myanmar. I left Bangkok in the morning taking the shuttle bus which leaves throughout the day at 20-40 minute intervals. The minibus cost $110 Bhat, but equally I could have bused or the train. The mini van dropped me at the Kanchanaburi bus station. From there we then caught the 11:30am (also 10:30 & 12:30) bus from Kanchanaburi to Phu Nam R ...
