Help needed with forgotten teddy in khao sok national park

Posted by spoonz on 27/12/2016 at 22:14

Our daughter left her beloved teddy bear at the hotel in khao sok. Staff have kept it but its complicated to get it to us in bangkok. Is anyone leaving khao sok to bangkok? The teddy bear is at tree tops river huts, right at entrance to national park. We will be in bangkok until morning of 31st. Other option is if someone could post form somewhere and we can refund you postage ( and reward). This bear has been all over the world for 7 years with my daughter so much missed. Thank you. Changing money

Posted by Sarahkpd on 24/10/2016 at 05:49

Hi, Just wondering if i would get a better conversion rate changing money in the UK before I arrive in Thailand or after I arrive? I read a thread on trip advisor that said the best rates could be obtained in the airport when you arrive, but this goes completely against what I'd normally do for other countries? ...

How does this itinerary sound?

Posted by Sknew on 20/10/2016 at 18:45

I'll be back in Thailand this February. I am mainly interested in art and architecture, and this will be my third trip. So, my itinerary is a bit unconventional. Arrive Sunday in Bangkok, stay Sunday and Monday, Monday devoted to a day trip to Ayuttaya. Tuesday bus to Kampaeng Phet, staying two nights. Thursday bus to Sukhothai, staying for two nights. Both days to be used for Si Satchanalai. Saturday bus to Lampang , for two nights. On day two I'll probably do a day trip to Chiang Mai for ...

Meditation

Posted by theburningheart on 18/12/2016 at 21:10

Hello all, I will be traveling into Thailand at the end of April, early may and I'm looking for a Wat to practice meditation. Either Chiang Mai or any of the beach areas is what I would prefer. I don't know much about the process. I believe that I would like to stay between a week and a month depending on the situation. This is my first post on the topic so I really don't know what questions to ask so any answers or directions would be greatly appreciated. Jason ...

How much pre-booking do I need to do for a March trip?

Posted by NamManao on 25/12/2016 at 15:35

Hi all, I'm no newbie as I've been to Thailand four times, but I haven't been there since 2003. I'm looking at going in March 2017, but am wondering whether I can still "wing it" on the accommodations and domestic flights the way I have always done there in the past. That is to say, not pre-booking any hotel rooms (or flights, or anything else from the US before leaving) and just waiting until I'm there to survey the situation and choose suitable things from what's available. I've nev ...

Any experiences with Koh Tarutao and Koh Adang?

Posted by pedahlen on 10/12/2016 at 17:12

Hello! We are going to Thailand i February, and we would like to visit either Koh Tarutao or Koh Adang, but we don't know, which of the two islands that is the best? We are travelling with our 4 children in the age of 1½-11 years, so it won't be easy for us to do long walks or biking... We would like to see some beautiful nature and hopefully some exotic animals, so is there anybody who has visited one or both of the islands, and can tell us, which island they would recommend? Or is it ju ...

Reduced Koh Wai speedboat service

Posted by jps9122 on 8/12/2016 at 11:29

Hello to all. Has anybody travelled to Koh Wai lately? We're travelling there next month & have been advised that the speedboat service from Laem Ngop Pier has been reduced to one boat per day departing at 11.30am due to storm damage. As a result of the reduction in service it is now impossible to travel there in one day from Bangkok. Has anybody any experience of reaching the island by any other means, longtail hire from Koh Chang for example? I have attempted to contact the resort but to n ...

Visa/Check in/44 days trip/do I need the 60 dd VISA at departure????

Posted by SimonaK on 9/12/2016 at 10:43

Hi to all, I would like to have your advice on the following issue: I would like to stay in Thailand for about 40/50 days - I'm Italian and I should get 30 dd visa at arrival. My doubt is whether at the departure (check-in) I will be asked to show a 60 dd visa or not. I don't leave near to a Thai consulate in Italy thus I'd rather prefer to buy the visa extension in BKK. Hope is clear my question/doubt. thanks in advance for your answer simona ...

What happened to Chiang Mai's Night Bazaar?

Posted by Laura11 on 21/11/2016 at 08:22

I just visited the night bazaar in Chiang Mai and was very disappointed. Is the sad, touristy market I witnessed a regular change due to increased tourism, or is this possibly due to the mourning period? My sister just arrived in Thailand to visit me, and although she had never seen a night market, even she was asking me if we were in the right area (we were). This said, where are other night or day markets in Chiang Mai that have more locals and more interesting goods and foods? ...

Khao Sok - booking National Park bungalows

Posted by patty22 on 4/12/2016 at 18:41

Hello - I would like to stay at the floating bungalows independently of a pre-booked tour package. Planning to arrange for guides for jungle hikes and lake tours once there. Various posts mention reserving basic bungalows through the Thai National Park website so I set up an account to make reservation there. However, they do not accept online payment and instead give two options: "payment agencies under the Department of National Parks at 16.30" or "pay at the counter or ATM with ...

Need help with last minute trip to Thailand

Posted by leftfield on 23/11/2016 at 08:32

Hello, I'm planning a trip to Thailand and Cambodia this Christmas. I have 11 days on the ground, excluding arrival and departure. 3 full days in Bangkok and 4 full days in Siem Reap. I would like to spend the remaining 4 days on an island or a nice beach. Problem is I'm not sure where. Would you recommend I stay in Krabi town and do day trips to Phi Phi island and Phan Nga Bay? Or am I better off staying somewhere else? This site seems to highly recommend Ko Kood, and it does look gorgeous ...
