So, it´s really ne ...

Beaches between Phuket & Ko Phayam

Posted by iciclesecret on 4/12/2015 at 06:17

Hey all, I've visited a Thailand handful of times - spend two or three weeks a time there for holidays, but this time, it's slightly different as I'll be pregnant, so instead of seeing loads, we are going to keep it by the beach and slow things down a little (not entirely, but a little). We plan to spend some time at Ko Phayam, but will intially fly into Phuket or Krabi as the connections into Ranong don't work well with our flight to Bangkok. I'd love to stop off somewhere on the way f ...

Phuket as a base where else to visit

Posted by John67 on 3/12/2015 at 04:33

Hi, I'm off to Phuket for around 20 days in December, I have accommodation in Bandon-Cherngtalay Rd courtesy of a friend. This is the first time I've been to Thailand since 1996 and I imagine things have changed a lot since then. This time I will be with my other half, it's her first time in S E Asia and although we are looking to relax for a while I'd still like to travel around a bit. Looking at various reviews it seems the area we are in comprises of large resorts. Are there any smaller mor ...

Sadly, it say that on the website that it is now closed. Has anyone else heard about something similar? Done some google se ...

Drought in northern Thailand

Posted by geezer on 28/11/2015 at 18:32

One of my favorite areas of the world, I last visited in early 2014, coming in from Laos. Much of the time, there was a heavy haze which could burn the eyes and affect breathing. I was told that this was brought on by the regional practice of burning off crop residue which had been worsened by some years of drought. I became discouraged and returned to Laos sooner than planned. Has there been any relief to the drought conditions? I'm intending to travel again in 2016. ...

Hello guys, We'll be visiting Thailand in March and also staying in Ao Nang for a few days. While there, we would like to visit Khao Sok National Park for 1 night/2 days. So we wonder if there are full package tours that we can book? For example, a tour that would pick us up from the hotel and also bring us back the other day, so that we don't have to think about anything. Also, do these tours go every day in a week, or just on a specific day? We would also like to know if these tours ar ...

I will be traveling to Thailand - mainly northern Thailand in January next year and was thinking of learning Muay Thai in Chiang Mai or Pai regions. I have been there once but not to Pai and I've heard it is one of the most beautiful places to stay in Thailand.. Would appreciate any advice on how long is good to get introduced to Muay Thai - 1 month? 3 months? I was looking at a 1 month camp in Pai. I tried looking up some blogs and found this interesting piece on a personal Muay Thai exper ...
