Transport from Suvarnabhumi to southern busstation

Posted by Antaro on 3/11/2015 at 07:43

Hi there, what do you think is the best way to get from the airport to southern busstation in the evening-rushhour around 6 pm? I think I will skip the 556 bus, as I have to be at the bus at 8:30 pm, so is it better to take a taxi all the way or go by airportlink to Phaya Thai and then by taxi? And how much would it be? Any suggestions very welcome ... thx, A. ...

Bangkok: which area?

Posted by Yesterday on 26/9/2015 at 00:23

Hi all, I've read around but still a bit confused about where to stay in BKK. I'd love some advice. We like street food and little local restaurants, not interested in big shopping malls, not into nightlife scene (but might do rooftop cocktails one night) definitely not Khao San road area. Enjoy cultural sights and wandering exploring. Have considered Chinatown area and across the river from the Grand Palace. Would love a pool but not vital. Any suggestions would be great. As would any 'don't ch ...

Thailand's new six-month tourist visa

Posted by somtam2000 on 28/10/2015 at 18:45

Thailand announced a new six-month tourist visa some time ago and there is a blog post on it here that goes through some of the possible advantages of it. Before you get too excited, this Reddit thread pretty much illustrates why the concept will be DOA for many legitimate tourists. As always with Thailand's ever changing visa regulations, the devil is in the small print, and, if the conditions are all enforced, it isn't really all that viable a visa for a longer term tourist to Thailand. ...

Hi, Flight to Thailand booked! First stop is Bangkok. Initial stop is Bangkok and we will stay in Khao San Road before heading south. We will be then back in Bangkok at the end of the trip. My question is where to stay when back? Should we head back to Khao San Road or head to somewhere else which had good transportation link like Silom? Been told that from Khao San Road, most historical site are walking distance. So if going to like Silom or, other area with good connection link what will ...

Hi everyone, my boyfriend and I are going to be in Phuket for a week in December (the height of peak season) and we wanted to go on a sea canoeing tour of Phang Nga Bay for a day. We will be staying at the Serenity Resort in Rawai near Chalong Bay for the first 4 days, then at the Belle Resort in Patong for the last 3 days. I would like to book a sea canoe or sea kayaking tour of Phang Nga Bay while I am there, and I was wondering if there were any such tours departing from Rawai beach or Cha ...

Ko Lanta or Ko Lipe for NYE?

Posted by cessie on 21/10/2015 at 13:04

Hiya - we are 2 x single 35 year old girls coming to Thailand for NYE. We have time for a few days in PhiPhi and are then trying to decide where to go next. Both Lanta and Lipe have been recommended, but we don't want anywhere too too quiet - we want to be meeting and hanging out with other travellers. We are not looking for CRAZY nightlife, but just a few lively bars if we fancy a nite out. Both places look amazing, but I have conflicting reports as to nightlife. It will obviously be peak ...

Hi, So I find myself in Sukhothai and I'm wondering where to head next. I read that it is possible to hop into Myanmar for the day at this border crossing(or at least it was possible). Just wondering if this is still possible and what the formalities are...I.e do I retain my departure card for Thailand presuming border control hold my passport? Is it all worth it or not? If I head that way I was thinking of then heading south into Nam Tok for trekking possibilities. I don't have the time ...
