30 day visa and then a 60 day visa, ok??

Posted by claxius on 20/9/2016 at 07:33

I'm currently in India and plan to fly into Bangkok - get the 30 day visa on arrival - stay in Bangkok long enough to get a visa for Vietnam - take the bus into Cambodia, stay a while, and then onto Vietnam - spend a few weeks in Vietnam - and then I was hoping to get a 60 day Thai visa in Hanoi - then continue on through Laos back down to Thailand. So basically I'd like to know if it's ok to get a 60 day Thai visa after I've already received a 30 day visa earlier. Or can I only get a 30 day? ...

Destinations in Koh Samui

Posted by Jessicagh7 on 19/8/2016 at 09:32

Hi, I have booked to travel to Koh Samui next year for 5 days next. I am currently staying in Lamai and the Manathai Hotel which looks lovely however I am worried it's going to be too quiet and have the opportunity to move up to Chaweng instead (The Baan Talay). The most important thing to me is great restaurants / bars and lots to do in the day ie watersports/boat trips. I am aware Chaweng is a lot busier but also more expensive. Can anyone confirm what they would recommend? (for a young coup ...

Using a 60 day visa for second entry to Thailand

Posted by skinnybiker on 13/9/2016 at 15:04

I'm sure this question has been asked before but it's difficult to find an answer; a small group of us are cycling in SE Asia this winter making two entries in to Thailand both by land borders. The first will be for only a week but the second will be for about three weeks. Us Brits are OK with the 30 day visa exempt but our Aussie mate is a bit stumped as has only 15 days at land border crossings. So the question is can a 60 day single-entry visa be used for the second visit - the first visit be ...

Getting a SIM card on Phuket airport

Posted by Binibabe on 22/8/2016 at 12:01

Hi everyone, I will be travelling to Phuket in October (sailing, yay!) and I am trying to find out about getting a SIM card at Phuket airport. I've read that True seems to operate a little shop at the airport by now (not the freebie SIM cards), and someone told me that the convenience stores are no longer allowed to sell SIM cards because of the registration process... Can someone give me more information? Does True (or also other mobile companies) have a shop at the airport now and ...

Solo Travel in south east Asia.

Posted by coco102472 on 19/8/2016 at 00:09

Hello, I am a female living in the US and I plan to travel to SE Asia during the summer months next year (i.e., July/August). I'd like to visit at least two countries, but hopefully three with Thailand definitely being one. This will be my first solo trip and I'd appreciate any guidance I can get (e.g., best countries to visit at that time, safety issues, travel agent or not, cities and/or sites to see, etc,). I look forward to any responses that may guide me in the right direction. Thank you. ...

Best place in Phuket for 25 f solo traveller

Posted by Sarahkpd on 14/8/2016 at 13:59

Hi all, I will be doing my PADI in Phuket from 13-15 November before joining a tour group to go island hopping on the 16th. I will be arriving from Bangkok late evening on the 12 and will need a place to stay for 4 nights close to the diving school. I prefer authentic to touristy vibes but still want somewhere that there will be lots of other solo travellers and groups to hang out with rather than honeymooners and families. The diving company has suggested the following areas: Patong, ...

quiet beach house for a few months.

Hi, I need to move out of my current city for 2-3 months in order to do some studies/research. Thus, looking for a quiet place, preferably in southern Thailand. I've got a pretty clear picture of what I need, the basic requirements follow: - quiet and relatively secluded, - detached beach house or beach bungalow (but more sturdy that just a bamboo hut) suitable for 2, - definitely located very close to a beach and overlooking the sea, - on the mainland - I will take my road bicycle with me and ...

Base for a couple of months

Posted by helenclaireaz on 24/6/2016 at 02:59

Hi advice appreciated as to where to base ourselves for a couple of months. Mid range priced accommodation on a resort/beach ideal. Not a party place but not too quiet or somewhere within reach reach of 'civilisation'. We would like to do a bit of island hoping maybe staying somewhere for a couple of nights. Probably fly into Bankok and spend a few days there sightseeing before moving on. We've never visited Thailand before and on doing my research it all seems very bewildering, so much choi ...
