Tiger Temple - dead cubs, illegal pelts, 1000 rangers.

Posted by khunwilco on 2/6/2016 at 02:40

I would never say that about wraps it up for the Teflon temple, but it looks as if finally ALL the tigers are being removed. along with the 40 dead tiger cubs found in the freezer, several other endangered species found alive and some animal pelts - including a large tiger skin. I wouldn't bother a visit - maybe some will realise how naive they have been. ...

"As his wife Sawittree Shooyoung would tell Thairath, that’s when she heard him scream for help and call for a rope. Entering the bathroom, Sawittree found her bleeding husband fighting with the nearly 4-meter long python. She gave him the rope as requested. Just before he passed out from loss of blood, Atthaporn grasped the serpent by its head and managed to use the rope to tie it to the bathroom door." Guess which bit of him the serpent had attached itself to. The photos. OMFG th ...

Looking for location suggestions for a few months living in one spot in SE Asia

Posted by wkistler on 11/4/2016 at 17:55

I see a lot of requests for extensive itineraries for folks looking to see it all in a month. This one is different. I'm seeking some solace for a few months to work on myself, read, meditate and become a better human, and leave wherever I go better than how I found it, in whatever way is allowed by my Visa. I could do this in the States, or anywhere really. But it's also an opportunity to see a part of the world and a culture I've never experienced before. For many of us these opportunities ...

Horrendous assault in Hua Hin over Songkran

Posted by somtam2000 on 27/4/2016 at 22:11

A security video emerged last night (viewer discretion advised!) of a horrendous assault on three elderly British tourists in Hua Hin in Southern Thailand. While the assault happened some time ago (over Songkran) the video has only just surfaced online. While sadly assaults like this are not uncommon in Thailand, especially by groups of young Thai guys (and is probably one of the reasons the video is being largely ignored by Thai media), this is unusual for it happening in the heart of a to ...
