Alternative to Hua Hin for December

Posted by Bigianws on 20/4/2016 at 09:06

Hi My wife and myself will be visiting Thailand for several weeks in December. We have been to Kamala Beach in Phuket, Koh Samui and Hua Hin on previous trips and are considering returning to Hua Hin again. Should we consider any other places? We want a mature town as opposed to a recent tourist resort along with decent food options, markets, a nice beach and some evening entertainment with live bands. Thanks in anticipation, Ian ...

Help!! from Khao Sok to Krabi town

Posted by dalidmao on 25/7/2016 at 09:31

Hi, Can anyone please advise an easy way and not too expensive to reach Krabi town or Krabi airport from Khao Sok National Park? Actually I booked a hotel in Muang District area (Pak Nam), but I am ok to take a taxi or public bus to reach my hotel from Krabi town or the airport. I just need to know how to arrive to Krabi from Khao Sok, until now I've found only really old information so I am not sure if the info are reliable, I saw there is an early morning bus (8.30?) from Khao Sok, but ...

Budget long term Apartment Koh Tao

Posted by caitlinbrady on 13/3/2011 at 17:11

I am currently looking for an apartment on Koh Tao near the southern tip of the island. All of the budget long term accommodation I've found so far consists of very basic rooms (fan, cold water, bed without blanket, no shelves or storage etc.). Since I will be here for quite some time I'm hoping to find something a little more comfortable such as a studio with a small kitchen and perhaps hot water that doesn't stray too far from the backpacker budget. Anyone have any recommendations?? ...

Help with my itinerary, please? :)

Posted by waywardtimelord on 22/7/2016 at 00:22

Hi everyone. I'm traveling to Thailand in August. I'll arrive in Bangkok at 1:55 am on August 14th and will depart on August 24th. I am trying to plan a fun itinerary that isn't too stressful. I'm not trying to see everything. If possible, I'd love to fly to Cambodia and see Siem Reap before heading down to the islands, maybe the Krabi area? Is that doable or prohibitively expensive? I guess my question is.... 9 days. What is the best possible itinerary? I'm a 24 y/o solo female traveler and ...

Thailand in 12 Days - Destinations and Risks?

Posted by darrell0574 on 22/7/2016 at 14:28

Hi, I am thinking about the possibility of visiting Thailand for approx. 12 days. Will be traveling alone. I would focus on Bangkok, Ayutthaya firstly. Then, I can't decide which other destinations to add... First of all, the islands: Phuket, Ko Phangan, Ko Samui. Which ones are more scenic? I want first of all beautifull scenery. Not so much into partying. I am also considering the "Golden Triangle" area in the north of Chiang Rai. Or... Chiang Mai. I don't want to go to more ...

Hi everyone! I am hoping to tap the community's knowledge re advice/recommendations for the following: I will be going to Phuket in late October for two weeks of sailing the Krabi area. Afterwards, I would like to spend the last 5 days of my holidays on an island nearby. Ideally I am looking for a place with good snorkeling options and a reasonable transfer time from Phuket. I am a solo female traveler with a bit of SEA experience, more the bamboo bungalow than the 5 star resort ...

Just got back from 2 weeks in Thailand: Bkk to the Northern loop!

Posted by Airborne082 on 16/7/2016 at 00:41

2 days in Bkk on Khao San Road, more fit for the young drinking crowd but i had to experience it and glad i did. Walked roughly 2 miles from Khao San to Grand Palace, Wat Pho if your able, the walk is worth it. FYI- unless its a national holiday the temple IS OPEN. I had 2 different people at seperate times tell me that temple is closed. After leaving BKK took overnight sleeper cabin to Chiang Mai. I LOVED the train, well worth the baht! After a day in CM we took 3 day jungle trek to Karen tri ...

Island hoping accommodation

Posted by helenclaireaz on 22/6/2016 at 03:30

Hi. Advice please for a couple of first timers hoping to take three months in Thailand. Ideally plan to arrive Bankok and stay a few days in a hotel, see some sight and get aclimatised. Ideally would like to spend a month or so in one place before moving on to the next. A beach bungalow or somewhere we can be self sufficient is the dream - buying local food and cooking it ourselves. On or walking distance to beautiful beach, we don't want party places (we're semi retired, mid fifties) but do ...

Tiger Temple - dead cubs, illegal pelts, 1000 rangers.

I would never say that about wraps it up for the Teflon temple, but it looks as if finally ALL the tigers are being removed. along with the 40 dead tiger cubs found in the freezer, several other endangered species found alive and some animal pelts - including a large tiger skin. I wouldn't bother a visit - maybe some will realise how naive they have been. ...

Just before he passed out from loss of blood, Atthaporn grasped the serpent by its head and managed to use the rope to tie it to the bathroom door."
