Thoughts on my Month in Thailand Itinerary

Posted by Lovelywanders on 7/3/2015 at 05:25

I am planning a trip to Thailand for the end of May/June and wanted to get some advice. I am an early twenty something and I am planning a solo backpacking type trip. I have travelled around Europe, but this will be my first trip to Asia! Any thoughts are totally welcome, as are suggestions for must dos! I plan on getting a visa as I am planning on staying just over 30 days. The basic idea is like this Bangkok: Day 1 Arrive in the morning, Day 2 Full Day, Day 3 explore and then Night Train ...

Is Kanchanaburi super touristy? how about Sukhothai?

Posted by Yesterday on 10/8/2015 at 01:07

Hi, I wondered if Kanchanaburi is super touristy along the lines of Chiang Mai? I really don't like the super tourist vibe (eg. Chiang Mai, Hoi An, Siem Reap, Ubud). But I would like to go to Erawan National Park and wondered how long to spend in Kanchanaburi. I'm not really interested in any war history. From there Sangkhlaburi would be the plan. I also think Sukhothai looks like a lovely town, thoughts? Just to describe what sort of experience I enjoy - swimming in waterfalls, some cycli ...

Snorkeling from the shore in November?

Posted by benzine4 on 2/8/2015 at 12:56

As part of a six-month trip in SEA we are looking for a good spot for snorkeling from the shore during the last three weeks of November. We feel overwhelmed by the hundreds of possibilities and still not sure how to deal with the changing weather of November though it seems the west coast is a better guess. We are two quiet persons in the fifties. We don't mind snorkelling at the same place over and over, we like to find a spot and stay there for a few weeks, 3 in this case. Budget is limited b ...

BEWARE Travex 'Phantip' bus rip off Bangkok to Krabi / Ao Nang

Posted by cornishcouple on 10/8/2015 at 22:37

Okay, Travex booked our travel arrangements by email from the UK. Great they booked and train and transfer to Krabi . This side of their service we can't fault. Whilst they were arranging our travel their communication was very good. However things have changed since I've put in a complaint against the bus service they use between Surat Thani and Krabi. Online the over night train arrives in ST station at about 7. We were about 45 minutes late, you come to expect small delays but we were not ...

14 days in Thailand over ambitions?

Posted by auroraphillips on 2/8/2015 at 08:19

Hi there, we are planning a trip for the first couple of weeks in October and would like some advise/suggestions please. My friends are visiting Thailand for the first time and I'd like to be able to show them as much as Thailand has to offer. We are a fairly active group of ladies (late 20s) so laying about in the sun isn't something we are too interested in, we are also definitely past it for Full Moon parties too. Maybe a break by the beach once or twice would be nice. We are really intereste ...

Bad experience at Ning's Place, Prachup Khiri Khan

Posted by galapapuss on 6/8/2015 at 05:38

Firstly, I'd like to say that I don't criticise accommodation providers lightly as I recognise that there are often 2+ sides to a story. In this case, however, I feel sufficiently incensed to override such sensitivity. Apologies if this is in the wrong section/forum but I couldn't find a review option on the accommodation listing page. I called at this brightly-hued Rasta -themed place at 2pm one afternoon to enquire if a room would be available later that week. I was looking to book for at lea ...

What would you do with 3 weeks...

Posted by alexizfresh on 20/7/2015 at 13:14

Was planning on doing a longer trip in south east Asia but looks like the lady and I will just be sticking to Thailand this trip. We've never been before. All we have planned so far is that we're flying in/out of BKK. We would like to spend some time in Chiang mai , and somewhere in the southern islands. As for the southern islands, I don't think we are particularly crazy about "raging" or doing any full moon partying. We also aren't in to scuba. So, other than that...were pretty mu ...

Planning a 2-week trip to Thailand in Mid-August

Posted by KamaL on 4/7/2015 at 10:17

Hello everyone! My wife and I are planning a trip to Thailand in mid-August. We are celebrating our 1st year wedding anniversary, and I'm planning it to be a "second honeymoon". I'm planning to be there in Mid August (most probably 9-22), the trip will begin and end in Bangkok. I know it's not a lot of time, that's why I'm planning to be as efficient as possible. I'll be using flights to move from one place to another to save time. My main interests: - We don't like crowded cities, we ...

need food / special meal recommendations in Pattaya

Posted by TopTravelFoods on 14/7/2015 at 16:55

Dear friends, I am a writer of an online foodblog, and I will be travelling to Pattaya soon. For my blog, I am doing some research about delicious and/or special dishes in Pattaya. So that when I arrive, I know already which dishes in which restaurants or street vendors, I should definitely try. Let me introduce my blog first: as I said, I am writer of a foodblog. The foodblog mainly caters to travellers/tourists and expats. It focuses on specific dishes in specific restaurants or street v ...
