Posted by jeffmshaw on 3/12/2009 at 04:20

Hi all! My girlfriend and I are spending a month in Thailand starting Dec. 15. We've decided to spend New Year's Eve in Chiang Mai . Any suggestions for a moderately-priced but high-quality place to stay? As a sidenote, we're currently planning on starting the trip in Krabi and spending 10 days or so exploring nearby islands, then heading up to Chiang Mai before visiting a friend in Mae Sot and finally heading to Bangkok. I have some ideas about getting from point A to points B, ...

Would we need to book any transport in advance? Private transfer there we have been offered £40 with the tour co. We are then travelling to the half moon party - best way to get to Phan Ngan from there please? Private co has offered us £55 for this leg. Also we will be hanging around at the park by ourselves the first nig ...

Which island???

Posted by scottyheather on 30/11/2009 at 14:03

Hi everyone. After a whistlestop tour of Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, my husband and I are hoping to catch some sun and rest on an island not too far from Bangkok as we'll be flying out from there and don't want to have to travel too much at the very end of our trip. I've been to Samui before and loved it, but thought this time that Koh Chang might be a good idea given its proximity to Bkk. However, I've been reading and reading up on Koh Chang and it seems that there's not much ...

Taking the parents for a quick thai beach trip?

Posted by lastmika on 6/12/2009 at 23:17

Taking the parents (late 50s) this week to thailand for 7 days.. a real quickie! Anyone have any advice on where to go that I can fly to easily, and also fits well with a group of three wanting to simply eat well (really well...) and relax? I'd stay in BKK the entire time, for simplicity's sake, but it wouldn't satisfy our second condition of relaxing properly. I suppose that since the parents are involved the ideal trip lands us in bangkok and allows for some time there either before or af ...

Making plans vs going with the flow

Posted by Jleef on 7/12/2009 at 06:22

Just interested to see what people's preferred method of travel is? I'm spending 6 months in SE Asia next year - flying into BKK on Jan 13 and flying home from there on July 12, and have pretty much no solid plans for in between. Very few people I've spoken to seem to believe this! It's not that I don't have ideas what I want to do. I have places in mind I want to visit - Ha Long bay, Angkor Wat, Chiang Mai, a few Thai islands and the usual popular places plus a few extra, but I'm stubbornl ...

Accomodation in Trat for Jan 2010

Posted by bensadlier on 2/11/2009 at 13:14

hi guys, First time poster here. I am from Australia and travelling with 3 friends in January 2010. We want to stay in Trat, and from what we have read of the reviews, the trat guesthouse sounds like the place to stay. Unfortunately we cannot find any contact details for the place. We tried to ring the number but had no luck. Do they have a website, email address or any sort of contact information to make a booking? Thanks, Ben. ...
