I have come across these hotels that look to be in our budget and in a decent location, can anyone who knows these hotels give us some advice/review on them? or recommend other hotels in Bangkok? Mango Lagoon Place Sawadee Bangkok Inn Sawasdee Khaosan Inn Thanks! ...

3 weeks with my gf...1st time in Thailand!

Posted by scootorama on 24/8/2008 at 04:33

I am leaving on Dec 17th and returning Jan 7th. My gf and I have been throughout Mexico, but never into Asia. (I am 20, she is 19, Canadian) We are more interested in shopping in BK, and then heading south towards beaches, massages, relaxation, and great food. We enjoy the odd club, but are not big partiers. I realise this is peak season, so I want to stay out of the biggest party and tourist areas. Staying in beach cottages (any I should book ahead?), a 20minute taxi or bus ride out of ...

Hi! I am traveling through Thailand late Dec - Jan. This is my first time in Thailand! Very excited but starting to worry it might be difficult to get a room this time of year! I am starting in Bangkok, then Chiang Mia, then hopefully to Koh Samui and then Back to Bangkok for NYE. I am having a difficult time finding a room in Koh Samui! I will be there Dec 26-29 and most places are telling me I need a 7-day minimum. A couple of questions: 1. Which part of the island is best for a solo ...

I didn't get to see all the places I wanted to in Thailand in August, so I extended my trip so I can go back and do the islands. Do you know if I can just re-enter the country or if there is some sort of re-entry visa that needs to be purchased. Thanks for the advice:) ...

Koh Lanta and Or Koh Lipe

Posted by JustineB on 16/7/2008 at 03:23

Hi there - has anyone stayed at Costa Lanta on Klong Dao Beach? What is the beach like and is it close enough to dip into some bars etc - we don't want to be marooned on a resort, and as long as we can take a bike and dip in and out of some action. Just trying to get a feel for the Island as a whole - we have also heard that Koh Lipe is a great Island - it all gets a bit confusing as to which one to stay/head for? ...

Help for start of December in South Thailand

I am digging through all of the data here, reading my guidebook, and trying my best to find an itinerary. It is a bit overwhelming! So ask for all of your patience with me if these are dumb questions of I have missed the previously posted answers... Here are some details about me and my trip: I am in my 30's- meaning I don't want to hear the thump of the Bass all night ;) I will be traveling alone. I would prefer to be within "striking distance" of as much as possible. I don't want the ba ...

What island is the driest in this season? I was going to go to Kho Phangan, but after reading weather forecast i have doubts :|. Every website says something different. Does the rain season mean it will be raining or overcast most of the day, or just for an hour or two? So far my best picks are : ...

Political tensions in Thailand and brewing coup. To go or not to go HELP

Posted by firsttimetraveller on 12/9/2008 at 18:17

I was planning a trip to Thailand for my 21st. I planned a 2 week trip to thailand for the second half of december and I was so excited about finally doing some travel. However, the mother of my original travel friend has asked her to bail out because of what is now happening in Thailand. She has been convinced that there is a coup brewing in Thailand and I agreed that the worst thing that could happen on this trip is to be in the middle of a political disaster. However, now I am a little de ...
