19 y/o travelling to SE Asia, questions!

Posted by benjturner95 on 5/1/2015 at 17:20

I'm 19 and I've never travelled alone before. I'm going to travel in April/May this year and I'm just looking for some feedback on my plan... I understand that tours are frowned upon by some, but I wouldn't feel comfortable just arriving in a foreign land with no plan so I'm pretty set on doing a 15 day STA tour of Cambodia and Vietnam. The main reason being to meet some people and get a foothold in south-east Asia. Has anyone done a tour like this? After the tour I would really like to spend ...

Hi all! My boyfriend and I are going to Thailand this September for 3 weeks. We would like to explore Ang Thong Marine Park. We were thinking of 3 days/ 2 Nights staying on Wua Talap. We would like to go from Koh Phangan, stay 2 nights in Wua Talap, and possibly get a boat back to Koh Samui. I am just wondering if anyone has done this? Or if this is even possible? I'm thinking that we might have to return to Phangan on the way back. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks! ...

Time to clear customs in Bangkok and catch domestic flight?

Posted by dfrank24 on 17/5/2015 at 17:30

Hi All, I am looking into international flights into BKK, with connections to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai. How much time does one typically require to collect checked luggage, clear immigration, and make their way to the gate? I should have a boarding pass, so there won't be a need to stop at a transfer desk. Is a 2 hour layover sufficient in the middle of the afternoon? Thanks! ...

Volunteering Thai

Posted by Ossha on 13/5/2015 at 14:38

Another question about thai, not about my holiday on the 19th june though. Since my working contracts stops at the end of November (Then after 6 months I can get a new contract) I've been thinking about volunteering in Thailand for 2-3 months. Now I found an organisation where it costs around 850 euros (exlusive flight tickets). I've really no idea though how much money I will need for 2 months in Thailand. For the 850 euros I get: Accomodation, Thai lessons and transportation between project ...

Travel Itinerary Help!!

Posted by makboussval on 13/5/2015 at 10:35

Hello fellow travelers. I've never traveled alone before and am finding planning an itinerary difficult. I'm flying from Busan, South Korea and I would like to spend my first week on Koh Tao, then next head over to Chiang Mai and then finish in Vietnam. I would be traveling for about a month or a month and a half. What would be the cheapest way to go about this? Fly from Busan to Bangkok and then take a bus and ferry to Koh Tao? The flights to Koh Sumai were pretty expensive compared to flyin ...

14 day visa extension for Thailand?

Posted by danyagreenfield on 6/5/2015 at 10:58

I've read conflicting reports about this so would appreciate updated information - I'm a US citizen and did NOT apply for a visa in advance (didn't think I'd be here longer than a month), rather I received the 30 day visa at the airport. It expires May 15 but I would now like to extend for 14 days. Can anyone verify whether this is possible at the immigration office in Bangkok, or if the maximum extension is only 7 days? If so, what is the cheapest and easiest border run from Bangkok to get a ...

Bangkok Ecotourism

Posted by DawitJoe on 18/4/2015 at 09:33

Hi, I'm a Thai student from Webster University doing research on ecotravel. I had been living in Bangkok, Thailand for most of my life, and I believe that there are many hidden gems for ecotourism in the great city that are often understated. This and this, are great examples that are right in the middle of Bangkok. If you got a few minutes for a survey, I'd appreciate it. But if you don't, here's a few questions: The outskirts of Bangkok has several unique ecotourism attractions, such as crocod ...
