I will be in Koh Phangan in April for the Full Moon Party and booked accomodation at this resort but have read mixed reviews about it.....some very good and others quite now I'm a bit concerned. 3 weeks on the Andaman coast

Posted by Frenk82 on 24/11/2014 at 10:09

Me and my girlfriend (32 & 29 years old) are going toThailand for 3 weeks. We leave on 8 December. For us this is purely a holiday and not a backpacking trip to see as much as possible. We are planning to stay at the Andaman coast, as I never have been to this part of Thailand before. We fly in on Bangkok, stay there for 2 nights and then fly out to the southwest of Thailand. We would like to stay in 4/5 places for 3/4 days in each place. I don't want to spend too much time on travell ...

Hotel Selection

Posted by traveler_t on 24/11/2014 at 11:55

I will stay in Phuket for a week. Is there a hotel in a walking distance to the main action (Bangla?) but with a relaxing pool and with direct access to the beach? If not I will split my stay to two hotels. Which area should I look for a hotel in a walking distance to the action but still able to get some sleep? And in which area will I find a relaxing hotel with a big pool and direct access to a quiet beach? ...

Thailand mid-December

Posted by traveler_t on 22/11/2014 at 11:27

Hi I continue to plan my mid-December Thailand one-week vacation. I want the first half to be active (bicycle/kayaking, nightlife, boxing/lady boy shows) and the second half more relaxed (good hotel, large pool, on the beach line). Initially I planned for Samui + Ko Pha Ngan but some say that in mid-December the weather can be a factor in those areas (is it true?). Now I consider some combination of Bangkok or Phuket and a quiet island. I believe Bangkok will have the best shows/nightlife. ...

One week in Thailand

Posted by traveler_t on 21/11/2014 at 18:45

Hi I am traveling to Thailand for a week in December. Which destination should I choose? I am looking for the following: - relax near the pool / beach of a high scale hotel - sport activities (kayaking, bicycle, jet ski). In a safe place, with a low risk of scams. - good massages - see a boxing / lady boy / cabaret show - vegetarian options (easy to explain no fish / shrimp) - shopping fashion with good prices Can I find one destination with all that? If not maybe Bangkok + two islands? I on ...

Bangkok shirt tailoring advice?

Posted by carelesswhisker on 15/8/2012 at 13:43

Hi folks. I'm new to this forum but have been reading, and spreading the word about travelfish since my first Seasia trip in 2007. I'll be in BKK sometime this month and was wondering if anyone had good experiences with suit / shirt-makers? I've read countless reviews about the high end, westerner owned shops but I'm looking for something a little cheaper, a little more local. On my last trip I used Sarto Di Moda on Sukhumvit. They did a really nice job and charged me about 1200 Baht per shirt ...

Surin Elephant Festival 14.-16. November 2014

Dear all, I'd like to see the Elephant Festival in Surin from 14th to 16th Nov. I'd very much appreciate any advice on the following questions: 1. Is it a free festival that mostly takes place on the streets of Surin? Or do I have to buy tickets? If so, could I still get some on location or may they already be sold out since I'm a bit late?! (-: 2. Could you recommend any cheap place to stay in Surin; I don't mind staying in a dorm? 3. What' the best way to reach Surinam from Laos? I could ...
