After some help finding a quiet island in June-July...

Posted by EddieWalker on 1/2/2014 at 02:22

Hi Travelfish guys, My Partner and I are planning a trip to thailand for 17 days in june-july this year. We are landing in Chang Mai and planning to spend quite a lot of time discovering the north and possibly doing a slow boat down the Mekong into Laos (heard its quite good?). Anyways to finish of our trip we would really like an awesome beach getaway and have discovered that the gulf of thailand is probably best to avoid really bad weather. We are more interested in a lazy and relaxing exper ...

Thailand in April - should we include the north?

Posted by vermishel on 1/2/2014 at 10:24

Hi All, I'm planning a trip to Thailand in April (yes, I heard it's going to be hot!) for 2 weeks. We're a couple in our early 30's, and we enjoy exploring nature and trekking (but don't mind relaxing on a beach here and there). In terms of budget, we prefer staying in hostels and traveling by night trains/night buses where possible, but can afford a flight to save time. I really wanted to include a visit to the north to places like Pai, Nan or Soppong to do some independent trekking, but bec ...

Hey guys, I was a member a while back, but I can't remember who I was. haha. So I'll start fresh. I'm going to be spending some time in a few countries and then heading to Thailand to wrap things up. I've spent a week trying to decide on what to do with the last 4 days I'm there. I'll be flying into Phuket . Staying there a few days, heading to Phi Phi, then over to Ao Nang as a base to explore that region. Then I have about 4 days left before I fly out at 6am. So what do you guys ...

Booking through Hotels2Thailand

Posted by magalaya on 16/3/2013 at 20:31

Hey everyone - my boyfriend and I are trying to book our hotel for the first portion of our trip to Bangkok - we have a later flight (get into Bangkok around 9 pm) and want to make sure we have a place to stay at least the first night. We're hoping to book Lamphu Tree House - we couldn't able to find it on Agoda but found it on a website called hotels2thailand (www.hotels2thailand.com) at a cheaper rate quoted on the Lamphu Tree House website. Does anyone have experience with this booking websit ...

I registered here on travelfish a few years ago with the intent of using it for knowledge, learning and generally meeting new people as I had planned to travel across as much of the far east as possible. Sadly life and circumstance got in the way for me and I kept on putting off what should have been a priority for me. It was perhaps however for the best as I had soul searching to do on a personal level and in hindsight I may have viewed my forthcoming travel experience as a means to seek happi ...

Khao Sok to Krabi

Posted by karibou on 29/1/2014 at 12:17

I need to get from Khao Sok to Krabi town in early March but can't afford a taxi, at least not by myself, and want to avoid the famed minibus fiasco. My guesthouse owner presents the minibus as the only option. Does anyone know if there's a regular-size government bus, and where would I catch it? Thanks! ...

Does anyone have the e-mail id for Thanapa Mansion, 9 Phaholyothin 48 sub-soi 5 Phaholyothin Rd. Bangkhen, Don Muang / Impact, Bangkok, Thailand. I can book a room with them online but all of that is 2 bed. I need an extra bed and need to e-mail them before I book. This hotel seems to be perfect for my last day in Bangkok, board 6:20 a.m. flight from it, and also see Chatuchak weekend market and crash. Also this is better than my current booking at We-Train International House, 501/1 Dechatung ...

Five nights to travel from Chiang Mai to Sukhothai

Posted by heidisueelvus on 27/1/2014 at 21:42

I'm interested in renting a car and driving from Chiang Mai to Sukhothai . The route I'm most interested in would be from CM to Chiang Dao, Phrao, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Sukhothai. Can anyone tell me if this is doable logistically? If it is, is it too much ground to cover in 5 nights? Is it possible to rent a car in CM and drop it off in Sukhothai or Phitsanulok? If it's not so good do you have any other more realistic suggestions? Thanks so much! ...

Ok, so I'm looking for opinions here. Having been to Thailand a number of times now I'd not consider myself as a stranger to that part of the world. I'm planning a trip towards the middle of this year. Nothing fancy or off the beaten track. Just a nice relaxing break on a beach we are familiar with (or were). We'll simply be flying into Bangkok before flying to Samui for onwards transport to Phangan. As I said, simples! The difference this time I that we'll be bringing our toddler who will onl ...

3 Weeks in Thailand 2014 - Where should we go?

Posted by howtravel on 26/1/2014 at 08:09

Looking forward to 3 weeks holiday in Thailand. Have booked flights to Bangkok arriving second week of February 2014. As a couple (30/40s) we are new to Thailand and looking for: Mostly laid back beautiful beach relaxation. A few great sights and trips but but not adrenaline filled action. Maybe stay in 2 main places in hotel/holiday rental but take trips. Decent quality accommodation around £75-100 / 4000-5400 BHT per night. It looks good if we fly to Krabi then travel to Koh Lanta and ?? ...
