Thong Nai Pan

Posted by Saranne44 on 26/3/2014 at 14:25

Hello, I will be staying on ko pha-ngan during August this year and was looking at staying in either Thong Nai Pan Yai or Thong Nai Pan Noi. We don't want to stay in a fancy resort but a beach hut with warm water and air con. Any recommendations as to where to stay? Which is the livelier of the two places? Also how long does if take to get to the full moon party from this destination? Many thanks, Saranne x ...

Ko Sumai Island Hopping + Boutique Hoitels?

Posted by cgamon on 3/4/2014 at 11:00

Hello, We are a young couple arriving in Ko Sumai airport on June 6 and departing June 14th. We are looking to spend the 7 days island hopping but are not sure of the best way to plan it. Do we pick one hotel and make short 1-2 night trips, and leave our luggage at the main hotel? Which islands would you recommend if we need to narrow it down? We are looking for a beautiful beaches, jungles, marine life, some culture (I know the islands are not really the place for it), street markets, and m ...

Cool Down in Ayutthaya

Posted by Architeuthis on 2/4/2014 at 09:28

Hello All. I´m planning a 4 week trip to Thailand from december to january 2014/2015. On this trip I´m going to stay in Ayutthaya for a couple of days. I´ve been here before and found the city sometimes even hotter than Bangkok. For a cool down I only found two dingy pools at some hotels a little outside the center. So, does anyone know of some other good spots to cool down and take a swim? Maybe some river a little outside the city? Thanks in advance Andreas ...

Backpacker accommodation all gone? confused.

I used Travelfish way back when, I think at the time you only covered Thailand then, mebbe 8 years ago. now I've saved up for another trip. Before anything else congrats on expansion to loads more of South East Asia. Very nice. Great for readers and I guess great for you too. Nice. BUT, where is the budget accommodation gone? Im flying into Bangkok and when I looked at your Khaosan section it seems a lot more slim than it used to be. Theres more words given to stylish places over those that a ...

5 Day Gap: Should I Just Go With the Flow?

Posted by simonesa on 30/3/2014 at 23:09

So, I will be spending a month in Thailand during the upcoming low season. I am somewhat of a planner, so I have mapped out an itinerary that takes me to all my major interest points. However, I have five days, including days spent traveling, that are completely left open. I plan to fly into Bangkok and jump on the night train the following evening to head to Ko Pha Ngan for a few nights. From there I will spend a few nights relaxing on Ko Samui . After that, I wanted to visit Ko Lipe or ...

Ao Nang or Krabi or Railay

Posted by kriskeogh on 23/11/2011 at 01:25

Can I have some thoughts and opinions of people that have stayed in Ao Nang as what i'm reading about it isn't ticking any boxes for us. The wife wants to stay in or around Krabi area as the last stop off on our honeymoon and we would have 5 nights there. However the last thing is want is a Thai Benidorm, somewhere cheesy, tacky and people harrassing you on the street. I'd personally rather stay in Krabi town but is this worthwhile or stay on Railay Beach (west?) but there is only a few h ...

Cheap Monthly Rate For Room in Chiang Mai Late January

Posted by monthlyrate on 1/1/2014 at 19:16

I want to find a room in Chiang Mai from 22 January, for a month. I am having trouble finding the monthly rates. I am hoping to spend less than $250USD for the month, including utilities if possible. I don't want to rent a bike so I would prefer to be near the old town, the moat etc. I have been to Chiang Mai twice before and both times I stayed in the Bliss Hotel or Green Hill Place. They are near Nimman Rd and quite expensive ($350+ inc utilities). So, I want to try somewhere else. I would ...

I could use some help with finding affordable lodging for my family this December. I have emailed home rentals and searched online. I'm Still coming up short. I took my family of 6 (I have 1 in college now and is on her own with travels) backpacking around Europe last summer and averaged around $70 per night on lodging. Places let me double up my kids in beds or let them sleep on couches in rental apartments. I'm emailing people in Ko Lanta who have two bedroom homes with 2 king beds and a cou ...

Good afternoon everyone. I realise this question has been asked a dozen times, but not for a while now. I don't see any harm in me posting this again as the other threads look a little out of date or haven't been aded to in a while. So,...we arrive into Suvarnabhumi Airport around 1pm for an overnight stay. Out flight is at 9am the following day. As we'll be travelling with a toddler we probably don't need the hassle of travelling into the city for only one night. So then, airport hotel recomme ...

Umphang

I am currently planning my itinerary for a few weeks in Thailand in November, and as part of my holidays I would like include some trekking. While Chiang Mai seems to very popluar for trekking (and enjoyed my 1 1/2 day stay there last year) for some reason Umphang got my attention. I was thinking heading from Sukhothai to Mae Sot, and then to Umphang, where I would like to do a two or three day trekking, covering the Tee Lor Su waterfall and stay in one of the villages, and spend one or tw ...
