Update on travel to Timor Leste

Posted by muzzaf on 3/12/2019 at 12:04

Ive just returned from a very happy journey into Timor Leste Although not a deep journey in, it was only to Dili from Kupang and return so you can do the rest as much as you want. But I saw and listened to what I was interested in. Then there is a fee of $US30. If you are not Australian, then the e ...

Judging by the lack of activity I'm guessing not many people visit Timor-Leste. Is it dangerous to travel in or is there just not much to get excited about here? ...

Posted by Tinker on 21/4/2016 at 21:31

Really not a question, but information for other travellers, We traveled to Timor Leste for a week and wow it was great, a little more expensive than Indonesia but well worth the diversion while we were in Bali. Following LP Guide we headed to the East Timor Backpackers only to find it had closed down, finding budget accommodation was proving to be challenge as there was not much advertised on line! Fair accommodation, probably a step up from backpackers (!) shared toilets/bathrooms, good food provided. Not sure about self-catering anywhere. Not dangerous, just a really low-key developing nation. Friendly people, well worth visiting before the tourism explodes! Feel free to ping me if you'd like more info. cheers, Danila ...

For you who doesn't know me, my name is Steve. Well, i'm just going to be as quick as possible, so let's get start. 2010, was a fantastic year for me, because it's the time and the first time i'm going to Bali. Bali is such a great place to stay, especially for the trip. The scenery of beach, mountain, through the village, and all, it's amazing. And don't forget to mention : Balinese food. Food in Bali is really, really amazing, with so much spice to complete them all. I remember eating aya ...

Atauro on a budget

Posted by elfinawe on 30/11/2015 at 08:14

We plan to stay on Atauro for a week & are hoping to provide most of our own food . Has anybody been to the small grocery store in Vila? Did they have ice, milk, crackers? L.P guide suggests self catering at the Italian Restauant & Iti Maru guesthouses but make no mentionoff guest use of electricity, a refrigerator or a cooker. Anyone stayed at these places? Thanks ...
