Ayutthaya - July '06 Trip Report
Posted by exacto on 22/8/2006 at 23:07Hey again. Pam and I were in Ayutthaya in early July -06. We wanted to go there because it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visiting the ruins was a good run up before heading over to Angkor Wat later in the month. The town of Ayutthaya is just okay - nothing special really. But between the ruins and the great riverside restaurants, I'd call it a must see for almost anyone visiting Thailand. Kanchanaburi, June '06 - Trip Report
Posted by exacto on 18/8/2006 at 09:14Greetings again. We popped out to Kanchanaburi for a few days in early June '06. Kanchanaburi is a great out-of-Bangkok escape. The town itself isn't exactly charming, but the war cemeteries, museums, and of course the Death Railyway/Bridge Over the River Kwai are fascinating from a historical point of view. Plus, there is a well-developed tourist infrastructure too, making for lots of places to stay and to eat, particularly along the river area and just northeast of the war cemetery. W ...
