Posted by MorrieC on 27/12/2010 at 13:04

Posted by pete61 on 25/12/2010 at 17:42

I read the border crossings link (is it up to date?) and am hopeful something else has opened up to cross to Vietnam without having to go so far back south. We are coming up from PP to Kratie and then over to Sen Monorom and hope to go East to Vietnam and towards the coast. Any chances now or any tips? ...

We had been planning a 2 day, 1 night trip from hcmc to pp via the delta but have only been able to find one company so far that is doing a 2 day trip. No time for longer trip. Have seen some bad reviews of the company (delta adventure tours). Does anyone have recent experience or alternative suggestions? We would be prepared to pay a bit more for some comfort. Many thanks. ...

Good Food - Hanoi

Posted by daawgon on 2/12/2010 at 21:23

I just ate a great dinner in the Old Quarter at Blue Butterfly, 61 Hang Buom, really my best meal in some time in Vietnam. I was beginning to think all Viet dishes were either Pho or greasy fried foods, but now that I've had some good Viet cooking, I've changed my mind. This place is not real cheap, and not real expensive. I paid 170,000VND for a nice 3-course seafood dinner, and I will return real real soon. ...

Saigon Airport Bus 152

Posted by jaizan on 18/12/2010 at 15:19

Bus 152 runs from the airport to the centre of town. This should cost 3000 dong. The driver was charging 6000 today. A ticket inspector got on part way through the route & confirmed the price should be 3000. Do I care about the 3000 dong? Not really. However, I certainly don't like to see the driver profiting from fraud. ...

I am travelling to Vietnam, arriving in Hanoi , and need to be in Chiang Mai Thailand two and one half weeks later. I am curious about the least expensive, most interesting route to travel there and some ideas of costs and timeframes. If there some ideas of not to miss areas, .best routes, etc, I would certainly appreciate it. This is my first time in SE Asia. Visa and Onward travel

Ok so today i went to book my ticket to Ho Chi Minh from Sydney for next January and the lady at the travel agents was a little apprehensive on giving me a one way ticket, after a little coaxing finally she put it through but stated i would probably have trouble with immigration. Now I have read a heap of other posts here and on other sites where no-one has had a problem with this issue, and i would assume with 1000's of people over landing each year throughout SEA that i would have no issue w ...
