Visa and Onward travel

Posted by ChrisJenko on 8/11/2010 at 15:07

Ok so today i went to book my ticket to Ho Chi Minh from Sydney for next January and the lady at the travel agents was a little apprehensive on giving me a one way ticket, after a little coaxing finally she put it through but stated i would probably have trouble with immigration. Now I have read a heap of other posts here and on other sites where no-one has had a problem with this issue, and i would assume with 1000's of people over landing each year throughout SEA that i would have no issue w ...

Problems with catching any possible disease in Vietnam

Posted by swansil on 19/11/2010 at 07:02

Hello, I have been waiting for my graduation to come to go on a rather long trip to my beloved Vietnam, but soon after I got to know this website, I actually thought about the problem of diseases.. my immune system doesn't work anymore unfortunately and I catch diseases very easily here (in Italy), so I was wondering whether I'd probably waste time and money travelling to South-East Asia.... it is a pity though, what would any of you suggest me? ...

So...Im going to Vietnam!

Posted by sidewinder on 24/11/2010 at 19:48

My first taste of Asia since a big trip last year...its only going to be 2-3 weeks but I'm excited. A few questions: We are going mid-late January until early Feburary. I'm aware that Tet occurs in early Feburary..I'm fully aware this might impact on our plans a bit but is travelling around still feasible during this time? Secondly, assuming the shorter period of 2 weeks, we hope to be able to travel the length of the country hopefully, stopping off in several places. We will be flying into H ...

Drive/Fly From Ha Noi to Dien Bien

Posted by anhluc on 24/7/2009 at 23:25

Had planned to drive from Dien Bien to Sa Pa, but my wife wants a different route for exploring as we have already been to Sa Pa, and the road is passable, but not so comfortable. So, I'm thinking of flying from Ha Noi to Dien Bien and driving back or vice versa. Anyone have some experience with this route i.e. road conditions, travel time, layover points etc. It looks as if Mai Chau would be a good layover point, but is it on the more popular and most convenient route to get to Dien ...

Posted by averydka99 on 19/11/2010 at 07:56

Hello, Wanted to post my experience working with a small tailor in Hoi An. The name is T & C Cloth Shop at 14 Le Loi St. I got the recommendation from my hotel, the Nhi Trung. You will get a 10% discount if you mention the hotel referred you. I brought a copy of an athletic sleeveless shirt I wanted copied, and I choose a 2-layer wrap skirt from their selection. The bottom layer is silk, the top layer a gauzy, see-thru printed fabric I loved. I paid 20 for the shirt (of which she sewn in a s ...

Getting to Bac Ha

Posted by ltisme on 18/8/2010 at 13:37

Hi, we're trying to get to the Bac Ha market on Sunday morning by taking a night train from Hanoi. Our original plan was to arrive in Lao Cai and then try to get a bus or something to Bac Ha. However we've heard that this can be difficult, expensive and time consuming. We also read that it can be easier and quicker to get off the train at Pho Lu, the stop before Lao Cai on the train route, and proceed to Bac Ha from there. Does anyone have any experience with either of these routes that ...
