The REAL Easyriders!

Posted by EmjayReet on 16/5/2009 at 08:41

I am struggling to work out who the real Easyriders are... I have three websites that all look great. I have corresponded with two of them.. one telling me I can do Dalat - Saigon in 3 days, the other insisting you must do it over 4 days.... I am confused!!! Any help would be appreciated! Who/which operator is trustworthy and good (doenst necessarily have to be the original)? Can Dalat - Saigon be done in 3 days comfortably? What do you do with your luggage?? Thanks in advance Re ...

Nam Du Island Ferry

Posted by SamSomewhere on 7/4/2016 at 00:44

Just after having a baffling experience in Rach Gia's Superdong ticket office. Went in, after having done research into the area (a lot through Travelfish), looking to get a ferry to Nam Du rather than Phu Quoc. A very disinterested lady informed me that tickets were "sold out" for tomorrow. Okay, I said, let's do the day after tomorrow. No dice. I whipped out my calendar after a few minutes of her pretending not to see me and asked when I can buy a ticket. "Sold out, sold out ...

Question about Private Car Transportation from Vietnam to Laos

Posted by RhodeIslander on 21/3/2016 at 11:25

Hello, I will be traveling to Southeast Asia on my honeymoon in July. We will be flying to Da Nang (from Hong Kong), spending about 1 week in Da Nang/ Hoi An / Hue and then hope to move on to Champasak (Laos) for a week and from there on to Siam Reap. Based on prior research it seems that our best option from getting to Da Nang/Hue/Hoi An to Champasak and from Champasak to Siem Reap is through hiring a private driver. Based on prior research I got the impression that a private ...

Can Tho to Phnom Penh

Posted by samleetv on 4/4/2016 at 01:16

I'm currently in Can Tho and planning on heading to Cambodia in the next few days. A couple questions: 1) Is there a direct bus to Phnom Penh from here? What company, where does it pick you up and how much does it cost? Any contact info or online booking? 2) If we take a bus to Chau Doc from here and then a speedboat from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh, what is a good boat that won't charge an arm and a leg? It seems like it supposedly should cost $25 per person - do we just go to the docks an ...

South Vietnam and Laos

Posted by stevenjmartin on 27/3/2016 at 07:43

Hi all, We have two weeks to spend in southern and middle Vietnam in July. I was wondering if anyone had any particular beach recommendations. We'd also consider going into Cambodia to beaches if there were recommended over those in Vietnam. We were reading that up to and including Hoi An will be good at this time of year - how bad will the weather be further north in Vietnam? Finally, there don't seem to be any low-cost flights to Luang Prabang from Saigon but we'd love to have a taste of ...

Sapa Itinerary Advice for Non-Trekkers

Posted by tigershoot on 1/3/2016 at 17:02

Firstly, I can see that being a non-trekker does not seem to fit with a trip to Sapa . I'll explain. My wife of 49 ( I'm 50) has bad knee trouble and as such trekking for hours is not really an option. Other than that we are both fit. She could probably manage a two hour walk. After seeing Halong Bay and then coming back to Hanoi , the plan is to catch the 2200 train to Sapa ( Lao Cai ). This would get us into Sapa at I guess about 7am on the Thursday What we plan on doing ...

Book now or in Vietnam

We will be in Vietnam in June for about 3 weeks. Can anyone advise me whether it is better to book Ha Long Bay tours from home or better value when we get to Hanoi for a trip 3 days later? Is it leaving it too late to book for travel in the next few days? We also want to book Sapa tours and other flights to Da Nang etc but I am a bit confused as to whether I should have it all organised from home or wait until we get there for the extra choices and probably better value. Thanks. ...

How to buy a motorbike in Hue, Vietnam, and other motorbike tips.

After doing this, I thought I can maybe write a few helpful notes to those interested in doing the same. So here's what I did. Buying: I bought my bike through Kim Thien. Kim is a honest and professional mechanic with enough English to get around tourists. (English + Honest in Vietnam = Gold) I went to his shop in 24 Nguyen Sinh Cung Street in Hue (his phone number is 0906424641) and asked him to help me buy a Honda Win. You can also find his business card in Hue Backpackers hostel. Hon ...
