Guesthouses holding your passport....

Posted by think87 on 4/10/2009 at 09:03

I've read on someones blog that twice in Vietnam he literally had to fight to get his passport back trying to check out. once was settled after a verbal altercation, the second literally resulted in him literally having to pull it from the owner waiving it around in the arguing. One of the places the owner wouldnt give it back unless he booked a tour through them. This makes me very weary, do you really have to surrender your passport everytime you sleep and if so has anyone else ran into ...

I have a Vietnam one time entry visa for mid-oct to mid-nov, so I dont think that will even help my case...any suggestions? ...

Late night accomodation in Saigon, airline reviews

Posted by jclarkson on 29/9/2009 at 09:28

Hello all I am picking flights for a December trip to Vietnam and had a few questions. First, one of the flights I am looking at doesn't get into Saigon until around midnight and I was wondering if I'll be able to find affordable accommodation with an open reception desk that late at night. Second, has anyone flown Northwest or China Airlines and have any opinion on coach on either airline? ...

I am seeing super cheap flights second week of Jan. So cheap it seems too good to be true, since judging by online seat selection, the planes are empty. Do they often cancel flights if there are not enough passengers to make the flight profitable? Should I book a flight earlier in the day so if I get stuck, there are later flights I can catch? ...

I wondered if anyone had done this tour and whether you would recommend it or any other 10 day tour. We ...
