Beware of Lily (179 De Tham St.) HCM

Posted by localnations on 20/4/2012 at 13:03

Lily is a bar near Go2 on the corner of De Tham and Bui Vien and I want to do as much as possible to warn people about it. Of course I want to do anything to hurt their business after what happened to me there a couple nights ago. There will probably be no other way to get back at them, but I want to do something to damage their business. Everyone should know what could happen to you. On Wednesday night, I went out by myself. I met a nice Russian girl, a Japanese guy and a few americans at some ...

We are traveling to Vietnam in June. We have limited time. Originally I was going to visit Hue for two days. Now that I've done even more research Hanoi sounds really great and I only have 1day there. Should I skip Hue and add those two days to Hanoi? We are planning to spend 4 days in Hoi An. Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. ...

Mekong Delta with a toddler

Posted by EchoEcho on 19/11/2014 at 23:00

Hi everyone We are booked to fly into HCMC mid-March next year for two weeks, me, my partner and daughter who will be by then 22 months old. We recently visited East Timor for a couple of weeks, however we spent most of our time in Dili. For this trip, we would like to see a bit of HCMC (2 days?) before venturing out, but not going too remote. We are interested in exploring the Delta region as well as a side trip to Phu Quoc, and wanted to know how feasible this is with our young daughter. ...

Posted by Billroy on 13/11/2014 at 00:26

Hi guys, I'm flying into Ho Chi Minh from Melbourne on January 7 2015 and returning home from Bangkok on February 7. I'm going with my girlfriend and we're both in our early 20s. I've been tasked with handling our itinerary and have been trying to figure out a good trip that isn't too rushed but we also want to see as much as possible (GF's first trip overseas!). We're pretty laidback - not in it for partying, but do enjoy a social atmosphere - essentially a trip that immerses us in both country ...

Pickpocket problem in Saigon

Posted by air420 on 6/11/2014 at 21:29

Can anyone comment on the pickpocket problems in Saigon? I've seen many entries on various forums (including many videos on Y-tube), telling about pickpocketing gangs as well as snatching peoples bags / backpacks using motorbikes. What's the best way to carry money and documents in the street since pockets are not safe and they use some knifes to cut the bags? Is it safe to store my (expensive) photo camera at the hotel (safe box? manager office?) while I'll go out to eat? Thanks ...

Can multiple entry visas from vietnam visa choice be used at land borders?

My Friends and I have been recommended this website (vietnamvisachoice) as the easiest and cheapest way to get a multiple entry visa into Vietnam. However someone also told me that the visa only works for entry by plane; I can't think why this would be true but I can't find any definite proof contradicting this. Could anyone help? Many thanks ...

Motorbike south of Hoi An?

Posted by hdsjulian on 7/11/2014 at 05:35

Hi there, so i'm in Hué right now, with a motorbike, doing the Hai Van Pass tomorrow, then staying in Hoi An for a couple of days. But now i'm wondering where to go from there? I guess getting to Da Lat is the plan, but obviously not in one tour. Do I just take the HCM highway? Where are good places to stop? What to see? After Hoi An I have about 10 days to get to Saigon, so easy going. I could, however also get to da lat faster and then take a detour via Mui Ne or get to Saigon fast e ...
