Long Tan / Nui Dat tours

Posted by DiggersRest on 3/6/2015 at 02:48

Hi, feb 2012 saw me doing the above tour from Ho Chi Minh. As a former Australian soldier and having a keen interest in Australia's military history this tour was on the top of my "to do" list while I was here. I was a bit disappointed that there was nothing around telling the ANZAC story. So that's what I have started to do. Diggers Rest has a collection of items I have collected over the past few years on display. Entry is free. If you are traveling all this way and have any kind of ...

Lots of folks are asking for recommendations on one particular venture, but I cant see many feedbacks on which ones gave good service. Now that the busy winter season is over, perhaps you can give us an insight to the company you chose and why you chose them...a recommendation from here/another SEA website etc. How many stars, out of 5, would you give. did you start and finish in Hanoi, book through your hotel etc. then perh ...

Hi there We (an Israeli couple, early 30s) are in HCMC until early Thursday morning. We want to visit Cu Chi tunnels, and would rather do it with a private driver, so that we can get there early and beast the crowds. Is there anyone who'd like to join us and split the cost? It's supposed to cost about 800,000 VND. Alternatively, anyone familiar with a tour that departs really early? Thanks, have a great week ...

Alternatively, we could stop somewhere on our return from Phu Qouc (take ferry to Ha Tien then a bus to somewhere in the delta, spend the night, and continue by bus to HCMC) Any suggestions of where would be nice to stop? I'd rather not go to ...

Safe for Chinese-American to travel in Vietnam given current conflict?

Posted by shise24 on 28/5/2014 at 11:51

So I'm about to go on a trip to SE Asia, where we'll be spending about a week in Hanoi / Sa Pa at the end of June. It's a group of 6 girls, and 2 of us are Chinese-Americans, the rest are white Americans. Given the recent anti-Chinese rioting and violence that has been popping up due to the oil rig territorial dispute, we're wondering if it is still safe for us to travel to these places? How is the Vietnamese government handling the violence? Is it occurring in the urban and touristy areas, ju ...
