Mekong Delta cruise from Phnom Penh to HCMC

Posted by noratw9 on 24/2/2015 at 11:17

Hi everyone, My boyfriend are planning a 5-week trip to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam in June-July. Our plans are very tight since we're trying to see a lot, but I feel confident about most of our plans so far. However, we are trying to get from Kampot, Cambodia to HCMC. We planned on doing a 2d/1n Mekong Delta tour during our time in HCMC, but I was looking around online a bit and noticed that some tour guides offer a 3d/2n cruise from PP to HCMC! This would, logistically, be completely perf ...

Vietnam travel October - November

Posted by msilva123 on 9/4/2015 at 11:19

Myself and my partner - both in out late 20s will be traveling to Vietnam for 11 days. I have laid out a rough itinerary for our stay and would greatly appreciate any suggestions/improvements to our plans. We want to keep several of the days open and relaxed, without too many specific plans. We also want to limit the number of hours/days we spend traveling place to place. My main questions are - should I spend this much time in Ho Chi Minh, or should I focus only on Hanoi ? What are can't miss ...

Itinerary for 2,5 weeks in Northern Vietnam

Posted by Nomad85 on 7/3/2015 at 04:40

Hi, I've already posted in the Laos forum as my boyfriend and I are planning our first trip to Southeast Asia and couldn't really decide between Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. At the moment we are leaning towards Vietnam and thinking about how our itinerary could look like. We will probably travel for 17 or 18 days in June. We are considering limiting our travels to Northern Vietnam as we don't want to rush and prefer staying at each place for at least 2 days. These are the places we are intereste ...

Hi there, I just want to warn everyone travelling to Ho Chi Minh to be careful and check the safety of the places where they are staying. My friend was robbed in his hotel at night time while he was sleeping in one of the guest houses around the backpackers area. The thieves jumped from one of the adjacent roofs, they gas a room in the third floor from the window and they broke into the hotel. All the guest in the whole floor were robbed using the same tecnic. I don't mean to scare anyone, becau ...

Why was my post deleted

Posted by Sophiacollins on 27/3/2015 at 20:35

Hi, I wonder if I can get any feedback on why my post was deleted? (I was asking if anyone knew where I could find a coin-operated washing machine in Hoi An). As far as I can see, it's not spam, nor a duplicate. I thought maybe it was caught by a spam-catcher because I'm a new poster, and it would get unlocked once a human saw it, but it's been a couple of days and it's not come back yet. Can you help? The nappy bag is getting a bit full and our need for a washing machine is getting desperate! ...

Where to find self-operated washing machines in Hoi An

Posted by Sophiacollins on 26/3/2015 at 01:10

Hi, this is a bit of a random question, but I hope someone can help. We are in Hoi An for a few days and need to get some laundry done. Are there coin-operated washing machines anywhere here, that you can operate yourself? Do they exist at all in Vietnam? We found these most places in Thailand, but I haven't seen any yet in Vietnam. I know we can get laundry done loads of places, but we have a toddler and use reusable nappies and I don't feel comfortable getting other people to deal with his ...

Good and calm sweeming beaches in March-April

Posted by ybg on 15/2/2015 at 08:38

Hi We are looking for a good beach with calm waters to spend about a week either on end-March or beginning-mid April. I have searched the forums etc, saw the recommendations for Phu Quoc Island, but not sure how are the waters there this time of the year (saw some pics with quite big waves). We are traveling with a 6y.o. and while he sweems very well in the pool, we would like to get him used to seem in the sea/ocean and want to do it without dangerous waves etc. We would also like to do some ni ...

Petrol Stations - Mui Ne to Da Lat

Posted by ewenco on 11/3/2015 at 06:49

Hi, I am travelling this Sunday from Mui Ne to Da Lat. I aim to head west out of Mui Ne, past the white sand tunes, then north to Highway 1. Once on Highway 1 I am going to turn immediately left on QL28B (Luong Trung>Dai Ninh Road) which runs for about 60km through the mountains to Highway 20. I will fill up at Highway 1 but does anyone know if there are filling stations on this stretch of road? I don't want to be caught short through the mountains, and ideally don't want to carry petrol in ...

Mekong Delta Banana Boats

This is a wonderful trip if you are not worried about spending a little money and like taking your time and getting away from generic tourism, if you want to take a real banana/coconut boat down stream from the charming boarder town of Chau Doc to Can Tho then read on... There are no companies offering this trip but there are some "fixers" who can hook you up with a boat that has off loaded their cargo and can take you for the 6 hour trip chugging downstream the next morning, if y ...
