Vietnam Visa

Posted by LNR on 4/1/2010 at 16:38

Hey people, Long time reader first time poster. I'm in the final stages of setting up a 6 week SEA trip, departing on the 14th Jan. I realise i've left it to the last minute, but i need to arrange my Vietnam visa. I'm only in Bangkok for two days, then travelling overland to Chiang Mai, and onto Luang Prabang where we'll fly to Hanoi. What is my best option, in your experience, to obtain my visa before i hit Vietnam? Thanks guys! ...

Cambodian e-Visa/ On Arrival Visa

Posted by natwest on 9/3/2008 at 14:42

Hi, Has anyone used both visa options before? e-Visa is $25 while the On Arrival is only $20, so what is the major difference between the two, except being more convenient? I don't quite see why I have to pay $5 more for "processing" Is the queue for the visa always long and the staff worked snail slow? Thanks. ...

This cycling blog along with a couple of threads on Thorntree note that Lao visa on arrival is now available at the overland crossing between Cambodia and Laos. Cost is reportedly US$35 for most nationalities, $42 for Canadians. I'll update the other sections of the site regarding this in a couple of days. Cheers ...

Thai Tourist Visa - Double Entry

Posted by andrewmr on 6/2/2010 at 06:23

Hello Travelfish! I will be traveling through SE Asia shortly - flying into Bangkok then going overland to Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and back into Thailand by land. On my first trip to Thailand I plan to be there less than 30 days, so I could simply use the 30-day visa-exemption to get in, however, I don't have an outbound flight. I've heard that the main problem with the 'proof of onward travel' is that the airlines may deny boarding, not that Thai immigration will deny entry. On my second tr ...

Hi Everyone, We are in Siem Reap right now and a guy at out hotel is telling us (after a few phone calls) that as of just recently, people are no longer required to have a Laos Visa in advance when arriving at the Laos/Cambodia border from the Cambodia side. Every book/ website page I have read states the exact opposite, and the only place to get a Laos Visa in in Phnom Pehn. I am just wondering if anyone else has run into this?! We are definitely going to go around to other travel agent ...

Hello I have been reading about the problems going from Thailand to Cambodia using the Poipet crossing, however we are doing it in reverse - are there any issues going from Cambodia to Thailand? We will be going from BK to Laos to Cambodia back into Thailand within 19 days so assuming there won't be a problem with visas? Thanks for your help - there is so much information on this site that sometimes I can't see the wood for the trees!! ...

Easiest/cheapest way to obtain 30 day visa into Thailand

Posted by Kylzz13 on 18/1/2010 at 09:24

Hi everyone:) I have had a massive read through the forums regarding Thai visas, but still cannot decide what my best option is! We'll be spending time in Singapore/Vietnam/Cambodia before crossing overland via the Poipet boarder crossing into Thailand. We want to stay for around 3-4 weeks, 15 days just won't be enough. We can't justify buying a flight from Siem Reap to Bangkok... there must be a cheaper way! So: How easy it is to obtain a 30 day visa in either Singapore, Hanoi, Saig ...

Peninsular Malaysia vs Malaysian Borneo permits

Posted by jmcentee on 6/1/2010 at 14:18

Hi, I am a US citizen traveling in SE Asia for 4 months. I am leaving from Indo in a couple weeks and hoping to go to the Philippines but in order to do that, the best way seemed to be to stop through Malaysian Borneo, so my flight is from Jakarta to Kushing. I will then go to Singapore, then the Philippines, then Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and then return to Malaysia but to the peninsula to see the islands when they are not in monsoon season. Since I will already have passed through M ...
