Thai Visa

Posted by HansDN on 13/4/2015 at 15:34

Hi I am planning a 2 month trip starting in North Thailand, going down through Laos and Cambodia and ending in Koh Chang/Ko Kut. I was wondering if I can use the same visa I got on arrival in Bangkok when I enter Thailand again some weeks later at the Cambodian/Thai border? Do I need to do all the paper work, passport pictures etc again or just use the same visapaper from Bangkok and get stamped in for 15 days? Thanks! ...

Hey! I'm happy that I get my Thai Visa on arrival for a month. I'll only need it for the month, but.. I plan on doing a workaway placement in Cambodia for a while. So I may end up staying in Cambodia for 4+ months. I've searched online, but really confused with the boarder crossing Visa. Can anyone shine some light on this for me ? I leave in just over 2 months and want to make sure I know what I'm doing haha ! Cheers ...

My plan is to go to Laos from Vietnam with my motorbike and coming back to Vietnam by another border. I would like to cross the border at NamCan / Nam Khan for going and at Dien Bien Phu for the return. Is that possible? Do we have to pay a deposit? Which kinf of paper do we need? Do you think it is easier to put the motorbikes on the roof of a local bus from Vinh (Vietnam) and crossing the ...

Last minute booking (nothing planned)

I have managed to get the chance to get 2 months off work which is an opportunity I can't really pass up, so I want to try and do travelling Thailand, loas, Vietnam and maybe Cambodia as I might never get time to do it again. I depart Glasgow on the 16th Feb and return 15th April, but as this is last minute I am unsure of the visa situations travelling through these country's apart from I know I get 30 days in Thailand with flying in. Am I over panicking about not having all these visa's sorte ...

Major change in Thailand visa rules

Posted by somtam2000 on 10/5/2014 at 02:43

Effective today, foreign visitors to Thailand will only be granted a single entry by any land crossing. What this appears to mean is that if you enter by land on a 15- or 30-day visa free stay you can no longer leave by land and re-enter on the same thing. LAND ENTRY IS ONLY PERMITTED ONCE ON A 15- OR 30-DAY VISA FREE STAY. This is an extremely important development that will effect many people's travel plans. But there are many "what ifs" that are yet to be answered. Thai visa has ...

Hi everyone - I'm going on a trip to SE Asia in a few weeks for 2 months, and am hoping to cover Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam/Laos/Burma (Probably in that order) and have a quick question on the Thailand Tourist Visa Exemption. I've been browsing the site and the forums for about a month now and have to say it's been incredibly useful so far and I haven't even asked anything! So, onto my specific question. I land in Bangkok on 20/07/14 and intend to spend a week or so travelling East from Bangkok ...

Obtaining multiple visas - in Chiang Mai?

Posted by MissCaswell on 19/12/2014 at 19:00

Hi all! Am hoping you can help me with something... I'm due to fly to Bangkok on January 6th. My plan was to go on a same day flight to Myanmar and spend time there before returning to Thailand for a few days, visiting Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai and then continuing on to Cambodia and Vietnam. I hadn't realised yet that I don't qualify for a e-visa for Myanmar but I did know that I need to apply for a Vietnam visa in Chiang Mai with an agent (the nearest Vietnam embassy is in a different cou ...

Thai multiple entry visa or visa waiver + single entry visa?

Posted by zesti on 6/7/2014 at 04:38

Hello, I will be traveling to Bangkok, stay there for 1 or 2 days then fly on to Myanmar for about 3 weeks and then return to Thailand for about 5 weeks. Now what I'm wondering is if I get a single entry tourist visa for Thailand, would they automatically stamp it at the airport in Bangkok when I first arrive or can I tell them to give me a visa waiver for those first few days until I fly to Myanmar and save the visa for when I return to Thailand? Or should I just get a double entry visa? Than ...

Same day visa run (Cambodia-Thailand-Cambodia) possible? (at Hat Lek / Ko Kong)

Posted by Zjaaspoer on 21/10/2014 at 09:49

As our visa for Cambodia (VOA, 30 days, first ever entry) is almost expired (the 26th), and we're near Hat Lek / Ko Kong, we want to do a same day visa run from Cambodia to Thailand and then immediately back into Cambodia to get a new visum. My question is if this is at all possible. There is a lot of information on the web but I can not find a concise answer. What I do know is that Thailand has a new rule in place since may 2014 that these kind of runs over land are no longer possible (but th ...

Vietnam Visa - Land Crossings

Posted by GattinaRosa on 3/8/2014 at 05:44

Hi All, Sorry if this has been asked before. I've read through quite a few posts but have a few questions that I'm hoping you can help me with. My husband and I are travelling around Asia for 4 months, starting fro September. We will probably be arriving in Vietnam towards mid / late November. We will be arriving via land, from Laos, most probably through Na Maew / Nam Xoi. I am aware that if we are entering via land, an "visa on arrival" organised by an agent isn't a possibility ...

How do you handle proof of departure for an unstructured trip with loose itinerary

Posted by adaminasia on 10/8/2013 at 11:25

Hi, I am traveling to Southeast Asia for 3 months. I have only booked an arrival flight (Singapore) and departure flight (Bangkok), and plan to see Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. I am hoping to keep my itinerary somewhat flexible so I can stay longer in places I enjoy and move on from places that I don't enjoy as much. I have been reading about Visas and understand countries ask for proof of departure - either the airline that you are flying in on, or else at the border wh ...

Visa for travelling in and out of Thailand

Hi there, I'm struggling to understand the visa rules and how I should go about obtaining them for my trip. Basically, when I first arrive I'll be spending a week in Thailand before I leave for Cambodia and Vietnam for 3 weeks then back to Thailand for my friend to fly home and my other friend arriving a week later. I'll be in Thailand for another week then leaving again for Vietnam. I'll then be travelling alone and would probably like to see Thailand in a bit more depth and will definately be ...

Indonesia Visa in Bangkok

The wife and I just got our Indonesian Visas in Bangkok and I thought I'd summarize the process asI couldn't find anything already out there. Visa application is 9-12 M-F. Pickup is 1400-1500, two days later. We arrived Tues morning about 855am, nobody waiting out front, the door opened 5 minutes later and we submitted our application, copy of itinerary showing flight out of Indonesia,2 photos each, a copy of each passport and $45 each (1 CAN & 1 USA passport). Embassy website says b ...

Hi there. I'm currently on Ko Tao and will be looking to move across to Krabi in the next few days. I need to be out of Thailand by 23 May and am planning to head to Langkawi or Penang (first stop). Do you have any advice on the routes available from Krabi (or anywhere more appropriate - possibly a train?) to either Langkawi or Penang. Also I know I don't need a visa but will be granted (hopefully) a 3 month stay, where would the boarder crossings take place? Thanks in advance! Ana ...
