Several good Indian restaurants exist on Ko Samui, and one of the best on Samui's northeast coast is Akbar. What it lacks in view it makes up for in flavour, and one could easily mistake being in India when sampling owner Binod's lamb rogan josh, with a buttery garlic naan, or some spicy samosas with his signature minty yoghurt dip. The menu is vast, with several vegetarian options, and all... Read our full review of Akbar Indian Restaurant .

Choeng Mon Beach

A long time favourite vendor on Choeng Mon beach is Mr Coppi. He can be seen from about 11:00 each day setting up his beach kitchen, and drawing the crowds for his grilled buttered corn on the cob, grilled chicken with deliciously smoky sticky rice, the smell setting off drools as it wafts across the beach. His wife makes a great spicy papaya salad while, made on order or savour fresh fruit,... Read our full review of Mr Coppi's beach kitchen.

Aroma Boutique Cafe Lounge & Home Style
24/53 Moo 5, Choeng Mon (On the bend in the village main road, opposite the turn off to Samui Honey Cottages and Q Signature)
T: (085) 230 2088

A quirky little coffee lounge-cum-interiors shop opened its doors in January 2013 in Ko Samui’s Choeng Mon. What you first notice driving past is a flash of vibrant purple, and then on closer look, some tables scattered along the pavement. Don’t take the bend too fast, or you’ll miss it – and Aroma Boutique is worth popping in to for a browse around as well as great coffee and... This quaint little cafe set opposite Grandma's House, is one of the few places offering cheap Western food in the Choeng Mon area.
