If you want try real, unadulterated Cambodian food, but are a little nervous about going street side, then this is an excellent option.

They’ve been here for years, and the open-fronted restaurant looks a lot classier today than it used to. The menu is huge, and the busy kitchens turn out all of the soups, noodles, stir fries and more than you can imagine. However, they are especially noted for their grills, and if you leave Cambodia having experienced nothing more than the joy of barbecued beef dipped in lime juice and fresh pepper, then it’s more than a worthwhile trip. Sovanna is just opposite The Willow Hotel, but if it’s full — and the large space fills quickly with local families in the evenings — there’s another one, Sovanna II, just 100 metres down the road, so check that out.
