Frizz Cafe & Restaurant

Frizz is a long-running restaurant specialising in Khmer food, some of it really top notch.

Opened originally on the riverfront in 2004 by a Dutch expat -- a former correspondent called Fritz who was consistenly called Frizz by Khmers -- the restaurant was among the earliest in Phnom Penh to help popularise Cambodian dishes among foreigners. The menu is just as good at their newer location in a ground floor shophouse on Street 240, where they still serve up great food at good prices. Dishes include banana blossom salad and beef stir fried and served in an orange sauce on a bed of coleslaw and as well as popular fish amok and lok lak. They also offer a range of Western dishes, but we'd come here particularly for the Khmer food. Cooking classes are also reputed to be good, though we haven't done one in recent years.
