Le Trio

If you really love coffee, head straight to Le Trio roastery when you are looking for an excellent cup of world-class Lao coffee in Vientiane.

Photo of Le Trio

A gleaming roasting machine from Germany occupies most of the modest space at Le Trio, along with stacks of high quality Arabica and Robusta beans all grown in Laos. It’s boutique, a little hipster and the machinery is fancypants; but at the end of the day it’s about getting a damn good espresso and Le Trio certainly delivers. Our flat white was perfect. There’s room to enjoy a single or a double outside on the front streetside terrace or you can squeeze in at the bar. Food isn't really done but they do whip up waffles for breakfast. Le Trio has several different roasts and blend which make great souvenirs; do yourself a favour by picking up a few bags (60,000 to 80,000 kip) for home. And if you’re in the market for a French press, a Bialetti Moka Pot or an Aeropress (great for travel, by the way...) the shop carries a wide range at reasonable prices. Highly recommended for caffeine fiends.
