Many of the Indian restaurants in Vientiane have shut but Nazim has held out.
While it won’t knock your socks off, if you’re craving Indian food it will do the trick. The extensive menu offers the usual favourites like chicken tikka masala (40,000 kip), tandoori chicken (40,000 kip), and the staples biriyani rice, dahl and naan bread. They also have some South Indian specialties like the masala thosai, a lentil crepe filled with curried vegetables.
Vegetarians will have no problem finding something to eat and dishes without meat are very cheap, only 15,000-20,000 kip. Like all Indian restaurants in Laos, paneer is substituted with tofu.
Despite the extensive menu items, the dishes mostly have the same generic curry flavour, so this isn't Indian cooking at its finest, but it also means it's hard to go wrong with whatever you order. Nazim is popular and the service is attentive even when it's a full house.
