In a street dominated by toned-down fried noodle dishes and sweet curries, Tom Yum Kung manages to serve up fresh and well-prepared Thai favourites.
It's more expensive than other offerings, but if you are looking for good Thai actually on Khao San Rd, this is the best bet.
The menu is extensive, and the outdoor seating is nice at night if it's not too hot — it feels a long way away from Khao San even though it's just a few metres off the main street.
Better value-for-money alternatives can be found by walking five minutes off Khao San, but this is a solid restaurant.
