HIV/AIDS are serious problems in Cambodia, which has the highest infection rate per capita in Southeast Asia. The main method of infection is through heterosexual intercourse, which goes hand in hand with the busy prostitution trade, and through sharing infected needles with intravenous drug users. As in the west, sex workers are often paid more to have sex without a condom thus increasing their chances of infection. Sex workers aside, inter-tourist bonking is also plentiful. No matter who you are sleeping with, use common sense and make sure you're protected. Condoms are available throughout the country.
