Two active and fairly adventurous 'seniors' who love to travel. We have lived in Nepal, Singapore, and USA. We believe we invented the idea of gastro tourism back in the 60s because local food is very important to us wherever we travel.
We love Asia and our only two trips westwards to the West Indies and Caribbean were not unqualified successes. We spent 3 months in Sri Lanka and a month in Oz in 2007. Early 2010 we travelled in Cambodia and Vietnam, taking in Siem Reap & Phnom Penh, HCMC, Dalat, and had a great time with an open top Jeep and guide off the beaten track and to all points north towards Hue over a month.
We are leaving for Bangkok in February and will travel to Vientiane via overnight train. Then it will be N & S Laos and onwards to the coastal areas of Cambodia 4/6 weeks. 2012 saw us once again on a train from BKK up to Chaing Mai/Chaing Rai and then eastwards to cross the Mekong for a two day trip down to LP. Back to the Islands and then on into Cambodia, eventually circling back to BKK. Last bit of the trip was by train to Kanchana buri - an experience not to be missed!
