There may be an 800-year gap between the notable architecture of Cambodia and Singapore, but the two countries are just a two-hour flight apart. If you don’t want to rely on the e-visa or visa-on-arrival service you can apply for a visa at the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Singapore.
For a 30-day tourist visa to Cambodia you will need:
– 2 completed visa application forms
– 2 passport sized photographs
– At least 6 months validity left on your passport
– S$36 visa fee payable in cash
The embassy can also process a Cambodia business visa for S$45, but you’ll need to show an invitation letter from a Cambodian business. This letter should include full contact details for your sponsor. Business visas allow multiple entries and can be extended. Extensions cost S$60 for three months, S$100 for six months, or S$180 for one year.
Visa application hours are strictly from 09:00 to 12:00 and collection hours 14:00–17:00. A tourist visa will take two working days to process, so if you apply on a Monday morning it’ll be ready for you Wednesday afternoon. Though the visa application form asks for your intended date of entry into Cambodia, the visa is valid for 3 months from the time it’s issued.
Despite its name, the Royal Embassy of Cambodia does not have a very regal location. You’ll find it on the 10th floor of the infamous Orchard Towers, better known for its prostitute bars than its diplomatic relations.
