TK Avenue

Our rating:

Along with freshly opened Aeon Mall, another new shopping destination that may either fill you with delight or horror is TK Avenue… Yes, really, this is still Cambodia.

Do not readjust your monitor, this is still Cambodia.

Do not readjust your monitor, this is still Cambodia.

TK Avenue is a pedestrianised High Street experience, lifted wholesale from a generic town in the UK or Australia and plonked into a Cambodian neighbourhood. It’s off-the-beaten tourist path and on the small side, but there’s enough grocery and clothes shopping to keep you busy for an hour or so. Half the retail space is taken up by ice cream, coffee, pizza and fast food outlets, and the chandeliered cinema offers the latest Hollywood releases alongside bestselling Asian blockbusters.

The wait for Waitrose is over.

The wait for Waitrose is over.

Things you’ll find here include the Waitrose range in Lucky Supermarket, genuine Adidas products and Aussino home textiles. We wouldn’t go out of our way to head here, but it’s all part of Phnom Penh’s changing shopping scene.
