Sandy stretch, salty breaths

Along with surfing, diving, snorkelling and general lazing about, the relaxed vibe of Nusa Lembongan is perfect for adding a little yoga into the mix.
A handful of yoga studios provide classes, retreats and teacher training, and some offer combo packages with surf lessons or diving included.
Yoga Shack offers daily drop-in classes suitable for all levels in their lovely bamboo-thatched yoga sala. It's in the grounds of Secret Garden Bungalows at Jungut Batu. The price is 100,000 rupiah for one 90-minute class, five classes for 400,000 rupiah or ten for 700,000 rupiah. Styles include bsic hatha and vinyasa.
Serenity Yoga is set in an open pavilion within a leafy garden off the beach at Jungut Batu. Drop-in classes, private classes and teacher training are available. Daily classes are 120,000 rupiah, with discounts for multiple classes. Or cough up 800,000 rupiah for unlimited classes for one week, or 1,800,000 rupiah for unlimited classes for one month. As well as vinyasa and basic hatha, they offer fly-high yoga with swings and inversions (suitable for beginners), dynamic and energetic power yoga classes, and Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) yoga on request—yes, yoga as you float on the ocean.
The Village possible bags the best location on Nusa Lembongan, with their yoga studio upstairs from Ginger and Jamu Cafe, directly on the beach at Jungut Batu, overlooking the sea. They mostly focus on teacher training, run by the Australian-based Santosha Yoga Institute. As well as regular styles of yoga teacher training, they run courses in stand-up paddleboard (SUP) yoga teacher training and yoga nidra teacher training. Daily drop-in classes are available 16:15–17:30 with basic hatha and vinyasa for all levels for 100,000 rupiah per class, or five classes for 400,000 rupiah. Wednesday sunset meditation 17:30–18:15 is offered by donation.
Yoga Bliss was closed in July 2017 when we were researching, but their studio is not far from Green Garden Warung at Jungut Batu (with some of the yummiest food around). They offer group classes for 100,000 rupiah with multiple class discounts and unlimited class options (with discounts for KITAS holders and locals). Private classes are 400,000 rupiah, and they offer teacher training and retreats that include accommodation and meals at Green Garden Warung.

Sally spent twelve years leading tourists around Indonesia and Malaysia where she collected a lot of stuff. She once carried a 40kg rug overland across Java. Her house has been described as a cross between a museum and a library. Fuelled by coffee, she can often be found riding her bike or petting stray cats. Sally believes travel is the key to world peace.
