Wat Prathat Doi Noi

Wat Prathat Doi Noi

Unusual

More on Doi Inthanon
Well worth a look is unusual Wat Prathat Doi Noi, a hilltop temple at the exit to town on the Hot road.
Travelfish says:

Set, as the Thai name suggests, on a wooded hill overlooking the town, it’s a rather standard looking temple but it’s surrounded by one of those odd Disney-esque Buddha parks occasionally found here and there around the country.

There’s a huge reclining Buddha image just below the summit and more gigantic, painted concrete statues of Buddha in various poses, mythological figures and scenes spread down the slopes amid trees and bougainvillea bushes. It’s a good spot for a stroll, with splendid views back down the valley.

To get here, exit Chom Thong town on Route 108 west and you’ll see the hill to your right. A lane bordered by a laterite wall winds up to park.
