Bus

Minibuses to Chiang Mai are 100 baht and take around 2 hours. To Mae Sariang is 200 baht and 2.5 hours.

Large, fan-cooled buses cost 50 and 70 baht for Chiang Mai and Mae Sariang respectively.

The minibuses should be approximately hourly from around 08:00 until dusk though large buses are less frequent. Check in advance and remember any free minibus seats at an en route stop like Hot rely on Chiang Mai or Mae Sariang passengers alighting here.

You could in theory purchase a ticket to Bangkok on the buses from Mae Hong, which pass through here, but given Hot's proximity to Chiang Mai, which has far more choice and availability, you’d be better off returning to there. There are also occasional through buses to Mae Hong Son -- but then you’d be missing out on Mae Sariang!
