Getting there, around and away
Use the quicklinks below to jump to the desired section regarding transport in and around Tra Vinh.
Tra Vinh bus station is 5 kilometres south of town, just before Chua Hang on Dien Bien Phu. Destinations around the Delta are served from here, though bus companies with direct services to Ho Chi Minh City, like Kim Hoang for example, have offices in town and can shuttle you out to here. A xe–om into town should cost around 30,000 dong—some haggling may be required!
Services to Ho Chi Minh City may pass through Vinh Long, Ben Tre and/or My Tho (depending on route) so while you can use these to get to towns along the way, you will probably be charged the fare for Ho Chi Minh City. While services to Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho run throughout the day, for other destinations there tend to be more frequent services in the morning.
Sample destinations include:
Cao Lanh: 60,000 dong
Camau: 100,000–138,000 dong
Can Tho: 60,000 dong
Duyen Hai (for Ba Dong): 43,000 dong
Ha Tien: 160,000 dong
Ho Chi Minh City: 73,000-120,000 dong
Rach Gia: 105,000 dong
Vinh Long: 40,000 dong
Vung Tau: 150,000 dong
